1) Your scanning image resolution may be too higher set 300 dpi / 400 dpi / 600 dpi. Scanning now fast.... not ok look step 2

Want to ensure my device is free of viruses and bugs

Hello Tammi,

The best way to ensure your device is free of viruses and bugs is to run regular antivirus scans, as well as anti-malware scans. Doing this on a routine basis, combined with having antivirus software that scans all the time is your best bet.

When I do the webroot sweep with the new version they automatically installed, it never finishes. After a couple hours I click out of the program. I have tryed to call their tech support many times and...

I'm not thta familiar with Webroot but, is this the first antivirus you've had? Does it have a settings tab? Does it have options; quick scan, full scan? Quick scans are usually take somewhere from 5 to 20 minutes. Full scans(if system hasn't been scanned before or has issues) could take hours. If you can change your settings, you may want to schedule your scans for the wee hours of the morning so you don't have to wait for scan to complete.

I have a dell dimension 2400 which is getting slower and slower and slower. Have done disk clean up, defragged, etc. Plenty space unused on hard disk. Anti virus etc all up to date. Do you have any ideas?

I run into this type of complaint very often, and it's almost always caused by viruses or spyware. I would recommend that you download two free clean-up tools that are very widely used and trused.

MalwareBytes AntiMalware (MBAM) (download free version)

Super AntiSpyware Free Edition (download free edition)

Install both programs using their default settings, run their respective updates from inside the program, and then run the full scans on both. You can run both scans at the same time, they'll both take a long time to run. Expect the scans to take an hour or more depending on how slow your computer is.

When the scans are finished, you'll get a list of "infected items". Follow the instructions for cleaning and deleting them, then reboot your computer. Once it comes back up, you may want to run both scans again just for good measure. If it comes up clean the second time, you should be all better for a while.

Good luck!

Email several scans at one time

Save the scans to a folder. Then pick each scan, individually, as an attachment to the email. Depending on the mail service you use, quite a few can be sent at one time. Hope this helps.

Brother Scanner, scans the page but prints black and vertical

I called technical support for this issue previously with my brother mfc. It would only do this during color scanning. b&w scanning was just fine. The tech support put me through resetting the reference point of the scanner through a series of button pressing and closing and opening the paper feeder. I kept gettting the same lousy results. Then they determined that the scanner module needs replacing and I needed to take to the nearest service center.

Problems with batch scans and with filing using a non-Nikon code system

Did you try saving your choice of settings as user settings ? That way, they will serve as defaults for all subsequent scans.

Slow scanning

I had the same problem on a Mac after upgrading OSX (on 10.5.7 now).

Downloaded the newest scanner driver from Canon:
and now it scans without delay!

I always scan using MP Navigator, not from the scanner itself: let's me edit the scans and save where I want as .jpg or .pdf.

SMB settings error.

if i remember right, the settings should be:
server: / or server name
folder: Sbssvr1\Scans\SCANS
and if still not working, try give some user name and pwd, some networks require this.
