Hi. The dishwasher appears not to heat up all the time. The soap drawer does open, but open the tablet does not disolve. This leaves the dshwasher very cloudy and often still dirty. I have also noticed that the place where you can salt is full of water

Hi,

I have an older dishwasher also and recently my wife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I am tried in vain to clean the things... Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new... However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad... So I would buy new spray arms, and also check out the heating element to make sure it is working... Here is a tip that will help you with the online buying...

Our dishwasher is not dispensing the soap. I have tried using the cubes (stays in wells), tried powder (it turns to a cake of soap) and I have tried liquid but you could see it ran down the door. Some...

Hi
Dishwashers use Bi-Metal strip to allow the dispenser to open/close. This strip when heat up causes the soap door spring to open up the dispenser. If this strip is not heated doesn't allow the door to open. The strip may not be getting 120V or maybe disconnected. Newer (plastic liner) dishwashers use a wax motor to open the soap dispenser. The plunger inside the wax motor slowly moves and pushes the plunger and door open. And, if this wax motor doesn't receive 120 volts, then it'll not work. Please check the voltage to the wax motor/Bi-metal strip; also inspect the connections to these. Dishes are not clean if water is hard or when more detergent is used than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results. You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle. Make sure that your soap dispenser drawer is opening and closing fine. Hope this helps...
Please post back if more information is required.

Soap tablets are not disolving in the drawer?

Unlike a dishwasher the drawer on a washing machine is for soap powder or liquid. Tablets won't dissolve in the drawer you need to put them in the drum if at all.

Soap does not disolve and residue left on all

The problem is hard water. Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com. They have a new product out that solves this problem once and for all. It filters the water entering your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that cause these spots. Very affordable and guaranteed to leave your dishes looking amazing every time.

Dshwasher tablet wnt come ut and dshes very wet

The detergent tablet dispenser door is energized by a solenoid wired directly to timer control board. The drawer will normally open releasing the tablet when the machine starts filling.

If the Drawer does not release the tablet, then either dispenser solenoid is faulty, or timer board mast be replaced.

If the machine is functional but does not release, then the technician will probably need to replace the detergent table dispenser solenoid, that often is built in with dispenser assembly.

You can call support ringing the number listed at the end of the owners manual.

Tablet falls to the bottom of tub but wont disolve

The newer Whirlpool dishwashers have little slots in the top of the soap dispenser to allow water to seep in during the first water fill. This design allows the tablet to begin to dissolve during the first fill then be usefull when the soap door opens. In your case, I would check to see if the soap dish is opening at all. Perhaps one of the racks are not allowing clearance or the soap door itself is sticking closed.

Let the dishwasher fill, drain, and then fill again. Open the door of the dishwasher and see if the soap door is still closed and if so, there is your problem. Also, at this time, check the water temperature. It should be at least 120 degrees F for the soap to be effective.

Hope this helps, Ken

OLD KITCHENAIDE MODEL KDI-20 LEAVES SOAP GRANULES ON DISHES.

I have this same problem, plus the pre-wash soap dispenser doesn't open sometimes even though a service guy replaced that. Could he have replaced just one side and not the other? this dishwasher also has a new motor. sometimes it washes beautifully. but other times it does not. even if both dispensers opened.
