Did u install mother board drivers /not ? install M.bord drivers.
chk all usb ports are connected to mother board.
if problem persists go to decice manager expand USB then right click on usb driver select uninstall.
right click on usb select scan for hard ware changes .system will install that drivers automatically.

Lenovo Touch pad Stopped working

If you're positive you didn't unplug or rip anything while installing new USB ports, trying checking/updating or rolling back the drivers for the touch pad. Installing new USB ports could have mis-configured something and disabled or modified your drivers for the touch pad.

My touchpad left click wont work but left click and when i move it it works . i even installed Synaptics - input -synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad From windows update still the left click wont work...

I have this same problem on my pavillion dv6. sent it to warranty repairs twice they have replaced the keyboard, touch pad and mother board, worked about a week after last repair which took two weeks. I am sending it back on feb 10 for more replace parts and see if it works. I searched the web and I have not found any solution and hp won't even acknowledge the problem althoughit it is not limited to the hp product. Reconfigureing and downloading drivers etc. has done nothing but waste time. I am using usb mouse with touch pad disabled for now even that acts strange with the touch pad enabled.

The touchpad above my keyboard is no longer responding as I think i may have deleted something from the hard drive. how do i fix this? When I first recieved the computer the majority of the touch...

sure you deleted something, how else can a driver just go byebye.
NO OS stated is this XP
we cant guess what OS is there ever.
so does mouse work, usb plugged in , that be first.
after checking device manager, for touch pad , driver errors
then know a pad this old can be bad.
it can also be set wrong in control panel, click mouse
and set it as you like.

My laptop touchpad stopped working

this is probably a driver issue if you are lucky other wise the touch pad must have become faulty

if its a driver issue go to this site
http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers
and download the drivers according to your operating system

install them and check if the touch pad starts working

if not then its probably a physical fault and needs replacing

My touchpad mouse won't work. it does not respond

If you are using XP, check your mouse settings under Control Panel. Make sure that your Touch Pad is enabled. If it is but it still won't work, have a mouse plugged into a USB port that will work correctly. Then download the latest driver from the Acer site for your touchpad. Uninstall the driver that is currently being used by your system. Then install the updated driver that you downloaded. This should allow you to use your Touch Pad. If not, you may have to take your laptop in for servicing.

Touch pad possessed.

To turn off the touchpad when an external mouse or other pointing device is present, you can goto the Control Panel and double click the Mouse properties icon.

Click the Device Select tab and check "Disable Touch Pad when USB Pointing Device is present." The cursor will no longer move via the touchpad.

Alternatively, you can permanently disable the touchpad of your laptop by clicking the "Disable Device" in the Touch Pad setting. Advanced users can disable the touchpad from the BIOS setup [press F2 when the computer is booting to enter BIOS settings]

For extra USB ports, purchase a USB hub($15 -$20). That way you can add at least 4 USB ports to your laptop.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

System freezing when touchpad not being used.

This will be one of three things; 1- a driver glitch with the touch pad. Uninstall the drivers for the touch pad from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the touch pad and reinstall the drivers automatically. You might also look at Compaq's support site for any updated drivers or patches for the touch pad. 2- You may have a loose connection. Remove the keyboard, check and clean the touch pad connection/connector. 3- A faulty touch pad. If the other two don't work, then disconnect the touch pad and try using the machine with an external mouse. If this works, then the touch pad has malfunctioned and needs replacing. Ty these and let me know.
