First let me state that the network cards on these printers are notoriously bad and fail very often. Before attempting any settings, use the arrow keys to bring up the information menu and then printer a configuration. If you have a network cable plugged in then the configuraiton page will print both the basic pirnter configuration page and the Jet Direct status pages which will show the currently set network information. If only one page pirnts then the card is not working, if three pages print the card is working and you will be able to follow the instructions below.

Press the menu button and then use the up and down arrow buttons until "configure device" is shown and press the checkmark. Use the up and down arrows until display reads "EIO" jet direct menu then follow these menu options

Arrow down until display reads TCPip press check.

Arrow down until it reads enable, press checkmark and change option to yes, press checkmark.

Next arrow down to config method press check and then choose DHCP or manual and press check. If you have a router it will automatically assgin an address to your printer when you set it for DHCP, if not, you will need to select manual and then manually input IP address, subnet and gateway.

Once you select manual you will have the option to input the IP address, subnet and gateway using the arrow keys and the checkmark.

For configuring the IP address on the printer, you will have to browse the printer menu, and the IP or TCP/IP should be under Network. Here is basic information about troubleshooting network issues from HP website.

Once you have set up an IP address to your printer you will be able to connect from PC via the web browser by typing in the IP address of the printer.

What is the default ip address of the printer hp laserjet 4250n?

There is no default IP address on HP printers with Jetdirect print server card.
You set the IP address in the printer's network settings. The IP address need to be set to match your network's address range.
To configure the HP network printer to work on your network, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

HP Laserjet 4050Tn can't be found by network computers (XP)

To install the HP as a network printer you need to do the following -
1. Configure the HP's IP address so it matches the IP range of your network. eg if your IP's are 192.168.0.xxx then set the HP to a high number say 100.
2. Install the HP printer driver on your computer/s using the LPT printer port.
3. Connect the printer to the network hub/router and power up the printer.
4. Click on Printers an Faxes - right click on the HP printer and click on Properties.
5. Click on Ports and click on Add Port.
6. In available ports - click on Standart TCP/IP Port and then Configure port.
7. Tick the IP box and type in the IP address of the HP's IP address.
8. Click OK and tick Enable bidirectional support and then OK

You need to setup the HP printer the same way on every computer on your network.
You can now print from any computer on your network

HP LaserJet P2015n Printer IP adress

To Me it looks like your printer is set to automatically select an available IP address. If there is no IP available you get the 0:0:0:0 You need a static IP set up for the printer, this will make sure that no one can use the IP. If this is a company printer, get IT to set it up for you. If its your home network you can set this by yourself by either connecting your printer via usb and using the software from HP or if you have an IP you can log into your PC by entering the IP address in the address bar of your browser. You should get the HP page up for your printer. Set the IP from there in the networking section. I hope this helps a little

Hp laserjet 2300n

Does this printer also have a parallel and/or USB port? If so, try printing to it via one of those methods to see if the printer itself is functioning.
I've seen this before with a 2200dn where the JetDirect box stopped responding, thus rendering the network side of it inoperable. If you have more of these printers it might be worth switching JetDirect boxes (if they're removable, as on the 2200dn) to see if that isolates the problem to a specific part of the printer (remembering the IP address stays with the JetDirect; not the printer!)
IIRC, replacement JetDirects for these printers are becoming hard to find, and expensive.
