I have a HP L1706 17" monitor that was given to me. I do not have a manual for it. I am building a computer from scratch with my nephew as a project and we have been having a problem getting the BIOS to load. The monitor was just showing a blank, black screen. I pressed the ' ' button for a few seconds and now the monitor just keeps changing colour- red, blue, red, etc., over and over and I cannot get it to stop. Can you help please? Teresa

Once we got the BIOS to appear we pressed F2 and the problem disappeared.

Thanks

When I turn on the computer it displays continuous vertical line patterns on the monitor

If monitor is fine, and cables too, then is a problem with VGA. If the VGA you're using is build in MB, then it might be that. Try to use a VGA card or another VGA card.

Hi, Im using HP w2408h monitor..its desktop...My baby scratched on the screen with the blade and there is full of scratches..nbut the computer is working fine..Am I able to repair the glass screen alone...

There are screen cleaners which are available at all laptop/PC spares which can be used to clean and wipe out the scraches,. However if the scratches are deep into the LCD then it cannot be undone and you may need to change the LCD if the vision is too blurred.

Monitor reading power lockout when try to shut off

the PC never turns off power to the monitor, it has its own power.

the words are clear.
it has power saver mode, turn that off
it has osd LOCK,
but no powerlock. as some do,. as your manual. shows.

turns the monitor on and to standby or sleep mode.NOTE:
The power button is located on the top or front of the monitor depending on the model
