Which product key are you referring to? Is it the Windows Operating System product key? If that's what you are talking about then I suggest that you contact microsoft customer service.

The product key should be printed on a sticker or label on the top or side of the computer. If it's a laptop, it will probably have this sticker on the bottom. If you don't have a sticker or label with a product key or license, you'll need to acquire a license from Microsoft.

If you don't have a product key you can't install the product.

I'm assuming you have quite a lot of computer savvy??? You'll need to access that drive and get the original key off it. Try connecting the drive to another pc and see if you can get to the Windows folder. Once there, use Jellybean Keyfinder to navigate to the Windows folder in that drive and take note of the OS key. From there you can reformat and use the existing key.
