I have a HP Deskjet 3420 Printer. It works fine in my old windows XP system. Now i am using Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edtion R2 x64 edition. The problem is i can't install printer driver. In windows 2003 32 bit edition it works perfectly using 2000/XP Driver from HP. But i can't find any driver for Windows 2003 x64 edition. And i also like to mention it works fine in Vista x64 and Server 2008 Datacenter Edition x64 editon using inbuilt HP 3500 series printer driver. I also tried with Wndows XP x64 driver from HP download site. But the installer saying that it is for Windows XP x64 editon and Windows 2003 X64 edition not supported. Please resolve the problem as early as possible.

There are noticeable differences between the windows platforms, especially between the server versions. Vista isn't true x64 as it's backward compatible. Windows 2003 x32 is way different then Windows 2003 x64.
If you try to use anything other then the proper driver, item won't work or load. You MUST have a x64 driver for that printer. If HP doesn't have one, they probably won't bother creating one.
Have you tried loading the HP 3500 driver in Windows 2003?
