Thank you. It just so happened that when I looked up my receipt it was about 10 days pefore my warranty was up. I called EcoQuest support, faxed them my receipt, they gave me an authorization number to be sent with the unit. They sent me a another unit within a week.
Some of the older units did have some trouble with the connection for the power cord. Try to push in the power cord all the way and wiggle it a little bit. If it still doesn't come on the unit needs to be serviced.
The FreshAir has a 3 year factory warranty. Make sure to have the unit registered, or have an invoice showing your purchase date. You can call EcoQuest support at 1-800-989-2299

Remove the filter on the back. On the outer edge of the filter frame, you will see a plastic tab. This tab is a safety switch and if it's not making proper contact with the trigger of the unit, it will not power up. Push the tab section of the filter frame snugly in first and then the remainder of the filter frame. That should solve your problem. It that doesn't solve the problem, check for a blown fuse, The fuse holder is on the back of the unit.
You have to remove the two top screws to take off the filter (lint screen). At least they put in hand-tightening screws in the later models. Make sure you also alcohol-clean the needle ionizer in the front and the radio-wave (round) one on the side! It's crucial to keep the "FAST" dust clearing capabilities!
There could be a couple issues at play here. 1) The power cable might not be plugged in correctly. 2) The fuse might be blown 3) there might be another electronic failure.
1 and 2 are pretty easy to check. Go to www.healthylivingia.com and look for the FreshAir, under the support tab you will find manuals that you can print out. For the third option you would have to send it in. An authorized repair center needs to take a look at the machine and diagnose the problem. You can call EcoQuest at 1-800-989-2299 to find out where the closest repair center is.
The problem is dust or moisture on one or more of the circuit boards, in the bottom of the unit. The problem is usually caused by resetting the cleaning reminder without actually cleaning the machine. ;-) It hasn't been difficult for me to solve so far. Remove the filter. Remove the two screws that hold on the plate where the rear switch is located. The wires are long enough that they don't need to be removed from the switch. Use a blow dryer or dry compressed air to blow off the circuit boards. ****Keep your face out of the way!!! Be sure not to get the blow dryer too close or too hot. If you have a Warm setting, use that. Good luck!
