To clean the colourwheel do the following.
Soak cotton swab in denatured alcohol
Using a circular motion, swab gently one color area at a time
Use dry swab to remove film build up.
Repeat to ensure the wheel is thoroughly cleaned
DLP color wheels need to be cleaned approximately every six months to a year, if the environment they are placed in is smokey, greasy or dusty. Sometimes, restaurant owners or places with high customer traffic will find that their TVs are experiencing picture degradation due to the smoke-filled rooms or greasy fumes from kitchens. There is no need to replace the color wheel but just to do a quick cleaning to save money on replacement parts. Even if you have your TV at home, your DLP color wheel may require a cleaning occasionally to provide clean picture quality.
