Can I reverse the door on my new Frigidaire Affinity front loader?

It sounds like you may have an issue with the door strike or door latch on your Frigidaire front loader. I would recommend contacting a professional to come out and properly locate the reason to why your door is unlocking before going into a cycle. -Matt

What has worked is to unplug the washer for a minute, close the door, and then plug it back in. it then starts normally with 2 pushes on the start button

I understand that you are wanting to know how to tell if the door lock is going bad on your Frigidaire Affinity washer. One way to tell is if the washer is telling you that the door is not shut or locked when it is. Try to reset the appliance for 3 minutes, by either unplugging it or resetting the circuit breaker. If you are still having trouble with the door lock, I would suggest to have a local authorized technician to come look at the lock and fix it if necessary.

Hi halej308 - Unfortunately Frigidaire front load washer doors cannot be reverse.

Check to see if the door is sagging. If so, contact Frigidaire you might be able to adjust the door and save money rather than replace the switch.

You need to replace the door lock mechansim. Fairly easy to do yourself, just pull the spring strap off the rubber door gasket and remove 2 screws holding door lock. Install new door lock and re-install door gasket and spring strap, and WALLA! she works:)

Leave the door open to allow the tub area to dry after use (both top and front loaders). Front loaders also have a propensity to hold a small amount of water in the rubber door seal. Wiping this up after each use will also help prevent the growth of mould.

Sound like new door boot seal needed..if you are able to fit a new one do, out of a diy scale its about 8/10 job.Please leave feedback

Sheck the hinche if is twist or pull that the most comon problem. If is that, disconect the door ahd replace the hinche. If the hintch is OK sheck the lock set up if is of place. Some time is being forced to open or to close it and bend the lock clip.
