Question about HP DesignJet 2500cp InkJet Printer

I have an HP DesignJet 2500 printer that has been functioning perfectly until just recently. Now whenever I turn it on, a message "Edge not found. Reload media." appears. There is no media in the printer at all. I tried turning it off and turning it back on many times but to no avail. It thinks there is media attempting to be loaded. Could this be a problem with a sensor? If so, I'm not sure where inside the machine to look for this. If anyone has any ideas that may be helpful please email me... cbobcat49 at hotmail.com thanks! Firstly delete the printer drivers ,then reinstall them this will cure the problem goodluck

I would check the sensor on the carriage that detects paper. It might be dirty enough that printer cannot detect the subtle edge of the clear film. It is the blue light that turns on on the bottom of the carriage when you load paper.

This is an issue with your starwheel motor. you need to check the cable and functionality. If you open the cover and look down you will see the star wheels and a 2" wide strip of aluminum that is the width of the paper path...it is to the left of that right below the ink supply station.

The error code indicates a communications problem between the display and the electronics. Reseat the connectors on the display and the connection to the electronics. If that does not solve the problem, replace parts in this order until the problem is solved: display and display cable, electroncis module, logic board.

HP DesignJet 430 rejecting media
When you load the paper, the carriage edge detector measures exactly where the right edge of the paper is located. Then the paper is rolled forward and the edge is measured again. If there is a difference in the measurements, the printer assumes the paper is not loaded squarely and rejects the paper. After you load the paper and the printer asks you to align the paper, take your time, release the paper with the release lever, and line up the right edge of the paper with the right edge of the paper roll. You might have to do it more than once to get it to load. Some plotters are very sensitive and others are more forgiving.

The HP Designjet 1055cm has 4 ink cartridges, 4 printheads and 4 printhead cleaners. My question is: Will the plotter still work properly if I just install the black ink cartridge along with the printhead...
I doubt it. When the printer powers up, it checks to make sure that all modules are in place and functional. If one is missing, you'll get an error message.

hp 2500cp ink levels incorrect Recently replaced all cartidges, printheads and printhead cleaners but my ink levels are showing empty on everything. printer will only print about two inches, then I get an "out of ink" notification and everything stops! need help asap! Big job has to go out! Also, I read that this printer can print up to 36" x 150', but mine only allows 129" length any way to correct that....trying to print an 11' banner.
