Someone changed my settings to save me from using my color ink up (without asking me) and now I can't change it back. There is no "Color" printing option. This is only happening on the 'remote server side' of my computer. (I have a mac - my company is windows based.) I have no problem printing in color when I am using my mac side.

Change the Settings under Start>>Control Panel>>>Printers>>>Printing preferences>Color Tab.
And at the same time under HP Solution Center>>>Settings>>printer Settings>>>Color Tab>>>Print in Gray Scale.
go into your driver and change your color preferences to black and white. that way when you want to print color you actually have to tell it to do so. which will save your color ink, and will print much faster. full color printing of a black and white document uses all ink colors except black to make what is called process black.
Epson uses the black cartridge mostly, but also adds color to the black printing in order to keep the color inks from drying in the print jets on the printhead.
They also make lots of money that way...
You can try to change your print quality to a lower setting. This saves a lot on toner. If you are not printing for anything super important you can set some printers to "fast draft" or "draft" quality and that saves a ton. I personally dont usually need to print anything of high quality so I went to my local "Everything" store(not sure if I should use company names) and bought an HP, the cheapest color printer they had which was $30.00 The black and color cartridges together cost about the same as the printer. But I use the lowest setting which is the "fast draft" setting and set it to print in black ink only, and only change that when I NEED something in color and it uses very little and prints very fast.
have you changed the print quality? some programs have different print quality settings if you change it to a universal setting like automatic it should be the same. also some programs print lighter to save on ink!
Hi.. Try this. Removed the color cartridge. Open the printer settings under Quality and check the box that says print in "greyscale" or "black and white. This will rule out and color cart problem and also change the printer settings. You will have to change this back to print in Color, Hope this helped........ Squipps
