When i turn my tv on it will only stay on for about 3 seconds, it was working fine the day before. i have not moved it, there has been no stroms to harm it, and no apparent reson for it not working. I call Emerson they said it was no longer under warranity, but i could ship it to them at my own expense and they would try to have it repaired and returned in 4 weeks. Do you have any other suggestions? Does Sears repair Emerson products? We have had this tv less than 6 months, and it dosent seem fair to have to pay repair on it so soon.

I had the same problem with mine turning off after 3-5 seconds. After much research I found a suggestion that on some combo units the vcr part could have a power supply cutout if it is not working correctly. I tried to insert a tape and found that the tape mechanism would not accept a tape. I used a little bit of force and managed to insert a tape. I then played the tape forwards and backwards and the power stayed on! I ejected the tape and found the TV then worked just fine. The power has now been on for over one hour. I hope this give you another avenue to try and fix your problem.
