My P1i does not alert or display any notification when i recieve a sms message. I have checked control panel - device - Sounds and alerts - message alerts and marked the display notification option. There is no problem for the phone to recieve the messages, but i have to go to the inbox to see them. So most of the time i see them too late to answer. Do you know any solution?

Maybe, you are using... a file manager and that you have deleted one important file for messaging, or maybe because of virus....its better to update your phone using SonyEricsson's Update Manager... Just follow the Instruction andi t will reset your phone to its original state...Take note to BACK - UP all important programs or things on your phone. like contacts and installed softwares... you can use the PC SUITE to back up those needed data.

try selecting a different alert profile for ur cell or go into ring settings and selectin a text message alert tone or jus visit file manager and select a tone from a sounds folder as ur text message alert

It seems to be a problem on all these Sony Ericsson phones.

You can make it louder by going to setting/profiles and select an outdoor profile.
Also choose a sound that is very audible, you'll have to download one. I recommend: Zedge, http://www.zedge.net/

Internet account MMS.GPRS
Save these settings
Switch phone off then on
Send picture from your phone to your own number to test.

Hi,
That phone only allows the default tones to be used as message alert tones. Other mp3 songs or tones cannot be used as message alerts.
