What causes a patchy screen when tv is off It looks like its got a pigmentation problem lol

Many things can cause this depending on the set. If it is an LCD or LED set it could be the T-Con board, cracked screen or ribbon cables breaking loose across the top or bottom edge of the screen. Sometimes you can squeeze along the top or bottom of the frame around the screen and it will clear up so you can verify that as the cause. If it is a plasma set it could be the Y Sustain board.

Video issues like you describe can only be two things in hardware either a Video card, or display. Patchy display is typically a bad display that has been dropped or damaged. On the software side a new driver or update can cause image problems but typically it will be no display vs. patchy display.

It all depends on if the pigmentation is permanent or due to static voltage within the circuit , in the RF circuit or fault in circuit.Use a cleaner to wipe and check if this changes , also check using the DVD and if the picture is clear then check your cable.

Same problem. Gray clouds INSIDE the external (plexi)glass of the screen.
I guess either:
1 - Screen collection dust or some electrostatic phenomenon.
or
2 - Some coating peeling off.

1 may be solved by dismounting and cleaning.

Any solution you know about ?

Most likely, you have destroyed the color pigments that are located in the screen. These pigments are necessary for the screen to work. You will need to replace the screen. Thank you for using FixYa! =)

is all the screen the same colour or is it patchy. It could be the degausing cerquet (if patchy). Or maybe just to be degaused with a degausing coil.

Is your tv a plasma tv or an lcd tv? When you say shadow, do yo mean a band across or down the screen, or is it a patchy shadow?

Pull back to TV turn on watch to see if all 3 tubes are lighting up if Red is lighting but no red CK projection Fuild in Tube, look down into lenses if you cannot see pictue clearly then Fuild is Bad.

You can try to remove the print head and ink cartridges.
Soak the head in an ammonia10-20% solution with warm water for 30-45 min.
Dry the head completely and re-install.Now run your grid patter,
It sonds like(from the grid reference)that only the black is clogging.This is a pigmented ink and tend to dry if not used for months at a time.

HI,YOU WILL HAVE TO SEND THE CLUSTER TO A ELECTRONICS SHOP TO HAVE THE LCD SCREEN REPLACED,ANDY
