WHAT IS 007-243 code error

This fault code isn't specific to one location/function on your machine, however, I believe it is directly related to your paper trays. Other fault codes begining with 007-??? state a tray sensor error, misfed media in a tray etc...
-
If you're trying to print to a specific tray and it won't print giving this error, you may want to try printing using a different tray. It is entirely possible you have some jammed up paper in the paper path and this will stop all trays from printing.
-
Potential solution:
-
Ensure you don't have any paper jams related to your paper path and trays, herre is a link that provides you all iinstructions to clear any paper jam on your device http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-7328-7335-7345-7346/support/enus.html?associatedProduct=workcentre-7328-35-45-46-built-in-controller

NOTE: The above link is a support knowledgebase and you can search on any problem you may have with your product by typing the natural language query in the search field, paper jam, can't print, scan fails transferiing etc...

Once you have determined there isn't a paper jam or if so gently remove any misfed paper.Reboot the device PO/PO power off/power on.
-
If the print jobs fail again, check your job status and see if there is any info listed for your print job, could be a media mismatch.
-
Try printing to another paper tray, if your job is calling for paper from tray 3 try using tray 4 or tray 5 etc..
-
I have provided a generic response to this question and kind of throwing ideas out there, if you could provide additional information I may be able to give a better solution.
-
Check the details of your job in the job status list?
A lot of times the machine will provide good direction on potential issues with a print job.
-
Are you trying to print on a custom paper size?
If you tell the print driver to print to tray 3 and you have 8.5X11 loaded in tray 3 and your print job from ypour PC is actually 8.5X14 then the job will not print simply put the media has to match the job.

I hope this helps.

Lexmark T644 Drawer 2 Missing error message but drawer 2 is in place. Drawer 2 always has problems pulling form form drawer when printing from drawer 2.

If job prints from the wrong tray or on the wrong paper or specialty media, this is an indication that the operator panel menu settings do not match the media loaded in the tray.

Make sure the Paper Size and Paper Type specified in the printer driver match the paper size and type in the tray.

LOCATION OF PRINTER SENSOR

Jams

Clearing jams

CAUTION Do not use sharp objects, such as tweezers or needle nose pliers, to remove jams.
Damage caused by sharp objects will not be covered by the warranty.

CAUTION Always pull jammed media in the direction it would travel through the paper path.
Do not pull jammed media against the direction of travel through the paper path to avoid damage
to the printer.

To prevent damage to the printer when clearing jams, including jams in the output bin, always open the
print-cartridge door and remove the print cartridge. Keep the door open and the cartridge out until the
jam has been cleared. Opening the print-cartridge door and removing the print cartridge relieves tension
on the printer rollers, which prevents damage to the printer and makes the removal of jammed pages
easier.

Occasionally, media becomes jammed during a print job. You are notified of a media jam by an error
from the software and the printer control panel lights. See Control-panel lights (HP LaserJet 1010 series
printers) on page 102 or Control-panel lights (HP LaserJet 1020 printer) on page 106.

The following are some of the causes of media jams:

?

The input trays are loaded improperly or are too full. See Loading media on page 25.

NOTE When you add new media, always remove all of the media from the input tray and
straighten the stack of new media. This helps prevent multiple sheets of media from feeding
through the printer at one time, reducing media jams.

The media does not meet HP specifications. See Media specifications on page 21.

?

Typical media jam locations

?

?

?

Print cartridge area: See Removing a jammed page on page 43.

Input tray area: If the page is still sticking out of the input tray, gently try to remove it from the input
tray without tearing the page. If you feel resistance, see Removing a jammed page on page 43.

Output path: If the page is sticking out of the output bin, see Removing a jammed page

NOTE There might be loose toner in the printer after a media jam. This toner clears up after
a few sheets are printed.

Removing a jammed page

Use the procedures in this section to remove a jam.

CAUTION Media jams might result in loose toner on the page. If you get any toner on your
clothes, wash them in cold water. Hot water will permanently set the toner into the fabric.

Partshere Troubleshooting

CAUTION To prevent damage to the printer when clearing jams, including jams in the output
bin, always open the print cartridge door and remove the print cartridge.

To prevent damage to the print cartridge, minimize its exposure to direct light. Cover the print
cartridge with a sheet of paper.

NOTE The following illustrations show the HP LaserJet 1020 printer. The same procedure is
used to remove a jam in the HP LaserJet 1010 series printers.

1

Open the print cartridge door, and remove the print cartridge.

2

Grasp the middle edge of the side of the media that is most visible, and carefully pull it free from
the printer.

CAUTION Do not use sharp objects, such as tweezers or needle nose pliers, to remove
jams. Damage caused by sharp objects will not be covered by the warranty.

CAUTION Always pull jammed media in the direction it would travel through the paper path.
Do not forcefully pull jammed media against the direction of travel through the paper path to
avoid damage to the printer.

3

When you have removed the jammed media, replace the print cartridge, and close the print cartridge
door.

After clearing a media jam, you might need to turn the printer off then on again.

NOTE When you add new media, remove all of the media from the input tray and straighten
the stack of new media.

Having message jam inside rear door and can not find any paper jam

Not all of the paper jam was actually cause by paper. There are also instances that the media is the one that is jammed, causing to display a "paper jam" message.

If you can't find any jammed paper from the unit, you can try inspect the following cause..
1. Trays are loaded improperly or overfilled.
2. Tray 2 or tray 3 is removed during print job.
3. The top cover is opened during print job.
4. The media that is being used does not meet HP specifications.
5. The media that is being used is outside of the supported size range.

Also, try to tun HP toolbox.. on the Paper Jam options, click the Typical Jam Locations... to see the internal paper path and potential jammed locations.

I hope this solve your problem...thanks..

Lexmark t640: paper jam in the back door. I can see the edge of the paper. How do I release the tension on the rollers so I can slide it out? Now it is in there tight and to grab it just tears off a piece...

Hope this helps....
Explanation of the paper jam message

A 241.09 Paper Jam message indicates that the printer thinks a sheet of paper has jammed at the front of the printer. The jammed sheet of paper is most likely to be found in one of the paper trays or under the toner cartridge.
NOTE: If you select Show areas on the operator panel, you can view one or more images to help you locate and clear the jam.

Clearing the jam
To resolve the paper jam message, you must first clear the entire paper path. To access the jam area, you will need to open one or more of the paper trays. Follow the steps in the table below to help you locate and clear the jam.
Step Action Image 1 Open the printer paper tray (tray 1), and remove any jammed media you find there. pattlnk_10222007_1922-enus28872_24109paperjam1_t64x_en_us.gif 2 Open the front cover and remove the toner cartridge. Examine the area inside the printer and remove any jammed media you find there. pattlnk_10242007_159-enus28872_24109paperjam5_t64x_en_us.gif 3 If you have a duplex option installed, also remove the duplex access tray and remove any jammed media you find there. pattlnk_10302007_1559-enus28860_24x17paperjamduplex_t64x_en_us.gif 4 If you were printing from an optional paper tray, such as tray 2 or tray 3, open any optional trays, starting at the top, and remove any jammed media. Pull the print media either up or down. If it does not pull easily one way, try the other way pattlnk_10222007_1957-enus28872_24109paperjam3_t64x_en_us.gif 5 If you are printing from an optional 2000-sheet feeder, open the front door. Press the elevator button (A) to lower the tray. Remove any partially fed media from the feeder.
NOTE: Make sure the stack of print media is straight and pushed all of the way into the feeder. Incorrectly loaded paper is the most common cause of paper jams from a 2000-sheet feeder option.
pattlnk_10222007_2110-enus28872_24109paperjam4_t64x_en_us.gif
For a larger image, click here. 6 Finally, reinstall all of the paper trays and press the pattlnk_10222007_2117-select_button.jpg button to try printing again.
NOTE: You may receive a different paper jam message informing you that another sheet of paper is jammed elsewhere in the printer. If this occurs, the error code will indicate the location. Click here for a diagram showing the error code locations. The paper path will vary, depending on the paper source and number of paper feed options installed.
Remove any jammed sheets of paper you find and try printing again.
