It sounds like you have a shorted wire or a blown speaker in system

try disconnecting all speakers and see if light goes out if so it is bad speaker if not try disconnecting all speaker wires and see if light goes out then

also if disconnecting speakers fixes problem you might want to check what the Ohm load is and how you have multiple speakers hooked up if Ohm load is too high or low you will get same light

is it possible you have too much moisture in car - sometimnes that will cause error

if this does not help please contact me with as many details as you can give me and i can try to help more - number of speakers, how they are wired to amp, what amp, how many channels for amp, etc - the more info the better i can help

good luck!

I wanna supplied my Amplifier Lanzar MNX 250 with an 12V - 30 Ohm battery, but the led of my amplifier is red and my speaker doesn't play music. How can I fix the "protect mode" in which the...

  1. The battery is 12 volts and Ohms has nothing to do with your amp installation.
  2. Was the amp running and got hot? Many times an amp will go into "thermal mode" when used for an extended amount of time and need to cool down but I assume if you are trying to hook it up you were not using it.
  3. You need to check the ground wire real well. A loose ground will cause protect mode.
  4. Recheck the speaker wires and their connections. If they cross this to can cause protection mode.
  5. This is a 4 Ohm amp, are your speakers 4 ohm or lower> If not then you may be running to low of a load to your amplifier.
  6. I always remove everything from the amp first and power it on and then add wires and see where which connection throws the amp into power mode.
  7. Check the fuse as well but if the LED is on chances are your fuse is good.
  8. If you check all of the items I listed and the amp still goes into protect mode then your amp is bad.

Regards, Tony

My home stereo amp goes into protection mode after about 2 min of being powered on do you know why/

The chances are that it does so due to a faulty part. Often these protection circuits are to detect an overload in either the power supply or the main amp section. Sometimes it's due to a speaker wiring problem, cables that are not suppose to touch - touching. They sometimes reset when either the overload has gone or the wire touching has been corrected. This sounds like it might be too late, and now a semi-conductor (on the heatsink) is acting like a piece of wire! Tripping the circuit. If you get power to the unit (lights etc) then it's probably not the power supply section to blame.

I got a 1995 ford contour wit the v6 engin and the wiring harness is bad in it is there any way to dix this without havin to buy a new on because a new on is very pricey

Because of the complexity and importance of a wiring harness I would recommend that you have it replaced, if you know for sure it is bad.

Good Luck

Protect led light

It appears that the amp is going into protect mode. To eliminate external causes, read through the following page. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Disconnect the speaker wires and the RCA cables from the amp. If the protection light still comes on, the output transistors have likely failed.

Power light vs. protect light mode

If the power light on top of the amp is on, the internal power supply is operating.

It is possible that the amp could damage the speaker if it has blown output transistors. Before you connect a speaker to it, you should measure the DC voltage across each pair of speaker terminals. If the DC voltage is more than a fraction of a volt, the amp needs to be repaired.

The amp requires an external fuse. Download the owner's manual from the rockford site. The correct fuse for the amp will be specified in the manual.
