I did not receive manual with my Bosch dishwasher model smu68m05ay. My Plumber is enquiring in regards to levelling and securing unit.

Your post doesn`t specify a model number, however on most Bosch dishwashers in order to change from "rinse & hold" to "regular" ( or any cycle ) simply turn the unit "on" and once the machine begins push the regular button twice.

Or the button applicable to the cycle you want.

That should change the display to look like this...


If this doesn`t work, try it for "econo" or any alternative and let me know how it goes.

A solution to this problem would be to sell me your dishwasher. The law firm for which I work is looking to acquire an old unrepaired Bosch SHU 33 dishwasher for some ongoing litigation. Hello and welcome to Fixya.

It "smells" ( just kidding ) like you might have a problem with the way your drain hose is connected by your description.

It is crucial that your Bosch dishwasher have a siphon break or "hi-loop" installed in the drainage between the dishwasher and where it enter's your homes plumbing.

If it does not you can try different cleaners until the cows come home with little effect because the odor is coming from the drain line itself.

Was this unit installed by yourself or someone you know ? Or was it installed by a plumber/professional installer.

In the end it actually makes little difference, I'm just curious. I see professional installers as well as plumbers fail to include this crucial feature over and over.

Let me know. I'll watch for your post. If you are unclear as to what I'm referring to, check your installation guide that comes with all Bosch dishwasher's.

If you do not have any instructions regarding the proper drain/install I can email you a copy, but I would need your email address.

Check the levelness of the dishwash. Is it level.
Check the seal around the contact surface of the door and the washer opening. Are there any cuts or gaps?

middle rotating washer attaches to the top washer basket and not actually to the dishwasher

Unlikely to be a level problem. Remove the filter and two screws holding the cover over the wash motor impeller from inside the wash tank - check for something jamming the impeller, like bits of broken glass or fragments of bone, fruit pips etc.
If not that, check basics - water supply, drain hose, filters clear, not syphoning empty, etc.

Your question is: YOUR BOSCH DISHWASHER MODEL #SHU43C06UC/17 WILL NOT START. NONE OF THE LIGHTS TURN ON AS IF THERE IS NO POWER GETTING TO IT. YOU HAVE CHECKED THE POWER CORD AND THE BREAKER BOX AND EVERYTHING IS O.K., BUT YOU STILL CAN NOT GET IT TO TURN ON. AT ONE TIME THE LED LIGHT LIT UP FOR A BRIEF SECOND, BUT NEVER AGAIN. Yes. 9 times out of 10 it's a loose or broken wire in the d/w junction box under the d/w behind the kick plate on the right. Make sure to turn off the electric before you expose the wirenuts. Remove them and install new.
