Something catching on drum

is it noisy in the spin cycle?on the back wall of the drum it looks like a peace sign, this is where the spider gear and or rear bearing is,the gear can crack from overloading or using to much detergent, this could be what you're hearing as you move the drum,if it's something between the tub it will end up in the pump but most likely it's from the spider gear,i've seen this before, when it starts to pin fast gravity pins the broken part to the side but when you move the drum by hand you can hear it,use it and keep an eye on it,if your washer starts getting loud in the spin you'll know it's the spider gear,it would cost more to fix it than have it repaired so this means new washer time.

Grinding noise when spinning

May be bearing worn, but may also be something caught between the tub and drum. When empty, spin the drum by hand and check to see if there is anything catching

I have got a Hotpoint Aquarius + WF740 1400 spin speed. When the drum is moving slow inbetween cycles there is a wereing noise, In the wash cycle it clunks but it's ok in spin mode. When I move the drum...

there could be something stuck between the inner and outer drum, eg. a bra wire a common culprit.
inside the drum you have 3 lifters ( blue pillars). remove one of these by pulling it towards you.this will allow you to see into the inner drum. get a flash lamp and have a good look rotating the inner drum around.
if you see anything get a pair of pliers to pull in out as you cant get a nasty cut.
replace lifter as u removed it.
if bearings were gone would sound like a tractor while spinning.

Hot point WF451 Issue. I want change the door rubber between the door and drum. How do I do this? Also the machine is making a noise on fast spin as if there is something in the drum catching. I have...

Hi for changing the door seal check out the video section on there are a few videos on the wf including bearing change which also covers the door seal as well. As far as the noise in your machine it could be almost any thing...if it's a scrapping noise it may be a bra wire caught between the drum and container, if its a tapping noise it may just be loose wires hitting on the cabinet or you may have a coin between the drum and container if it's a loud rattle, you could also have something in the pump's hard to diagnose noises without actually hearing them sorry

Well when it spins it makes a noise but not the whole time the it stops and starts again only during spin cycle.

If you put it onto just the drain cycle does it still make the noise without the drum spinning,if so then you can expect to find something stuck in the pump.If it is only doing it on the spin cycle then something has found its way into the drum.
Check the pump end first.

Hope this helps.

Spin the drum by hand, it make metal noise

Remove the rear lower panel of washer, and remove the drum belt.
From the front of the washer, spin the drum by hand, and if it feels rough or is rumbling, could be the drum bearings are going.
If there is something caught, it will make a completely different kind of noise, more like a catching or rubbing noise.
If no noise, then could be the motor that is casing the noise.
Hope this helps.

My Candy automatic washing machine will not spin

Try the drive belt from motor to the drum it could have stretched a little? The noise you can hear could be the heating element catching the inner drum or something like a wire from a bra came loose in a wash and is trapped between the drums ?

Wfw8300sw01 - makes loud noise sounds during spin

The bearings have collapesd due to the seal going faulty. If bearings can be accessed to from the outside, it is possible you could do the repair. If big bearing and seal is accessed from the inside, suggest tech. do it as it gets dirty and a lot more complex.

Would not dry clothes to original dryness. Now drum is making a whinging noise at the drum spin as though its catching on something every time it rotates. Also made a very loud clattering noise as it...

I had this same problem. The drum spins on two small wheel which with the help of the drum belt support the drum. The wheels or their brackets may be broken and need to be replaced. These are accessable by taking the back off the dryer. Best to take the old/broken ones in to insure you get the exact replacement.
