Doesn't turn on power led flashing blue then light blue then off

I would love to know how to repair this monitor. haven't tried the 8caps problem but that doesn't seem to work for everyone...maybe the error code from the power button is helpful if i watch/record it. any error code lists? Many thanks

i have the same problem, my moniter won't turn on, if i unplug it then plug it back in, the power button flashes a couple of times then goes off.

  • Anonymous Oct 24, 2008

If I unplug it then plug it back in then the blue light in the power switch would about four times then stays on solid and no display on the screen and I can't turn on the power on the blue light. I would have to unplug it again and then it does the same thing over and and over again. There is this site (monitordepotusa.com) that fixes them for $98.00 plus shipping.

I am having much the same problem. My computer is running XP and has worked fine for over 2yrs. It was working fine last night. when I tried to turn it on this morning the power button flashes at about a rate of 1-1.5 sec. if I am looking at the screen then I can see the gateway logo flash on for only a brief second and then off. I then tried to disconnect the monitor and only power it on independently to see if it would display "no signal" or go into standby. I only get the same flashing problem. I have tried hooking it up to my older computer that is also running XP and I still get the same flickering problem. One more observation is that no matter how long I leave the monitor on it will only flicker the gateway logo. This leads me to believe that it might be something with the Power Supply other wise I would see my desk top or other screens in between the flickering. Any help would be greatly helpfull.

I have a acer.x223w when,it powers up the.screem stays black, n i get a blue blinking light on.the bottom

I disagree with ikkenom only due to the symptom of the flashing blue light. This would indicate to me that the monitor is not getting any display signal and is in sleep mode at least the is what happens on my Samsung monitor. Used to be that they use a two color led in the monitor, green when ON and getting display signal and amber or orange when in sleep mode. I would check the computer by trying a different monitor. If you have a second monitor, great, if not, maybe a friend will let you bring your computer over and try the computer with their monitor. Could also be a display adapter setting. Do you get any change when you first turn on your computer? i.e. Do you get the BIOS or manufacturer screen when first turned on? Also if you disconnect the monitor cable from the computer and power cycle the monitor, do you get a No Signal display for a few seconds before the monitor goes black and the blue light starts flashing?

Let me know what happens with the testing above or if you need further instructions to carry out testing.

Thanks, Jim

HP Pavilion F1503 only displays a split second?

well, its a 2003 LDC 13 years old ,
its bad
the monitor itself of the power pack to it is bad.
you can test it on any PC< or laptop made
if its dead on all , then its dead.
what more needs saying,
older LCD monitors had old CCFL, lamps. that love to fail
newer are LED back lights that last for ever. it seems
so up grade?
seems your back light is dead
ever do the flash light trick
shine it at the dead screen see good data
yes, then the CCFL is DEAD< (or its power supply ,deep inside)
fixed may but would never do a 2003, not now.
lots of used good LED for sale,

Hi, According to your problem, Check the adjust switches and readjust the monitor first. You have to repair the PCB of the monitor. Better if you can replace the PCB of the monitor.

When i press the power button the led light flashes but it doesn't do nothing

That could mean a lens failure. Try to hook up adapter to computer if you haven't tried new batteries. Lens failure is quite common and it is best to spend a few bucks at a camera shop instead of trying to force it to work.

Hello,
It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswill blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts calledcapacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you aregood at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htmYou can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the badparts, replace any that look like the pictues and your monitor shouldwork fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct +and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new onethe same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer arepair service for $35 plus shipping. I hope this helps, if so pleaserate my solution.

Blue blinking light

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occurr are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing statebecause of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.
