Presuming you mean the Earthwatts 500:
Should work, though the Earthwatts has the 24 pin ATX instead of the 20-pin.

You just need to snap the 24-pin connector apart to make it work as a 20-pin. It can be snapped back together for future motherboards.
The Bestec is just a standard ATX power supply
Yes, it is a Earthwatts 500. Thanks, I'm gaining confidence, one last thing I would like to know, I could not get information from HP support on the whether the Bestec uses a 12v v2.2 or 2.3 or some other version. Does this make a difference. If it doesn't, and this psu works in the HP 6710f, I want to put the 250 watt Bestec into an old Dell Dimension 4400 with a pentium 4 running xp. The Antec tech guy said Iwould need a vesion 1.3 compatible. So you can see why I am following up with this question on if the different versions make or break an upgrade or switchout. FYI, thedell desktop won't turn on, so I figured I throw the 250 watt psu in it to ke it work, not to make it better.
thanks again!!!!!!!
All of the newer ATX versions are backward compatible to older ATX versions.
Fortunately, the Dell Dimension 4400 was made AFTER the era when Dell used their own non-standard power supplies, so I anticipate that any standard ATX power supply (including the Bestec or even the Earthwatts) will work in the Dell.
