It is sometimes called the source or ext button on some remote controls and sometimes you have to go through a menu system to tell the tv what sort of input you want to use, Is the remote control definitely working? To check this, If you have a mobile phone with a camera on it put the phone on video mode as if you are gona record something and point the remote control at the phone whilst pressing a button and you should the remote control light flicker, Its invisible to the human eye as its infra red light, I would need more info to help you out but I'm taking it all your leads/cables are in the right places? I hope this helps you out if not just ask,

I only get a blue screen with "No signal" on it. it doesn't stay on it shuts off automatically.

Power on your TV and press the INPUT button on the side of the TV repeatedly and rapidly until you can change it to a different input, such as AV.

If this does not work. Try this: With the TV off, press and hold the input button on the side of the TV for about 5 seconds. The TV should power on and the input list will appear. Let me know if either of these work.

"NO SIGNAL "is displayed on a blue screen

You have selected an input on the display that is not getting any signal that the display can recognize. Press the source button either on the set or on the remote until you get a signal.

WE ARE TRYING TO GET TELEVISON RECEPTIOB BUT WE GET "NO SIGNAL INPUT COMPONENT 5 AND THEN IT POWERS OFF". WE HAVE A PIONEER PDP 425 MX. I HAVE TRIED TO USE ONLY INPUT 4 BUT TV WILL NOT STAY ON...

The reason your tv is powering down is that it is not receiving an input signal on the channel (input). basically you don't have anything plugged in and turned so the tv doesn't see a signal on component 5 so it shuts the tv off. turn on your TV and hit the input button until you get to the input that you are have a device installed on. just make sure the device you are trying to see on the tv is turned on prior to turning on your tv.

If you do not have an and device plugged in (cable or other input device), plug something in to an input and turn the device on so a signal is being sent to the tv and then turn on your tv and change the channel to that input.

if you are locked on input 5, install and turn on a device to that input so the TV registers it as an active input.

I would suggest using dedicated input button on remote, not the menu on the tv. If you can skip setup screen that would be best. I have just looked at the manual for that tv, it tells you all you need to know, depending upon which input you used for your box. As I stated use the direct input button on the remote if you have it.
