You wont get the full 250gb. check unallocated drives under disk management. right click on computer then properties, go to disk management and check for unallocated disk, format the unallocated disk to get the whole capacity but it wont be 250gb much like 220gb or something close
Install a partition manager program like
http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm
open it and you will see the entire hard disk. In there either create another partition in the unallocated space or add it to the D partition.
I tried exactly what you said and the program reads the same as disk management C=127GB and D=100MB. The BIOS reads the drive as 250GB
Open the program, right click on D and select Resize then add all the remaining free space.

I did what you said and it shows exactly what my laptop shows, C-127GB and D-100MB. My BIOS reads it as 250GB
it just changed back to 100MB after i pressed ok
this will cause me to lose all my data correct?
