Replace 1 GB memory with 2 GB memory on a Gateway LT23 netbook. After removing 5 screws on the base of the netbook, could not quite easily separate the cover from the base to access memory module. Can anyone help?

Found the solution. There is no need to remove any screw at the base. Pop up the keyboard, undo four screws at the positions marked as 1 on the metallic plate. At the hole marked as 2, insert a screw driver and push firmly downward to disengage the plastic latch. Small gap will appear at the base cover, gently ply the base cover open along the edges. Once the base cover is removed, the hard drive and memory module are visible.

How to fit an extra memory module to a samsung netbook n102s

As i know netbook only have 1 DIMM slot, that mean you can't install another module on that netbook, but you can replace the current module (1 GB) with your 2 GB module.

I tried to upgrade the memory from 1 GB to 2 GB, but after that the computer's screen won't turn on, and i can hear three long beeps and two short ones

The beeps indicate memory issue.

Acer Aspire One Notebook supports upto 1.5GB of memory, so if you try to install 2GB it will not work.

Size 1.0 GB / 1.5 GB (max)
Technology DDR2 SDRAM - 533.0 MHz
Form Factor SO DIMM 200-pin

How to open and change RAM memory and hard drive on Gateway Netbook model number LT2704u?

This netbook is really the Acer Aspire One D255. You have to pop off the keyboard, then remove 4 screws that hold the back panel in place, which will allow you to remove that back panel in order to get to the memory.

Here's a video - blurry but it tells the story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KYNTvF0-5M

Gateway LT23 series - how to add RAM

On the bottom of your unit is a small rectangular area that has a few screws but unplug it and take battery out. Buy a matched pair at any office max or office depot...etc. Some people ask that you have a static wrist strip but I have never used one. There are small tabs on the sides that hold the ram chips in. Pry them apart carefully and pull up at a 45 degree angle. Install the same way making sure they clcik in place.

omg!!! are you kidding me? HOW SILLY!! Anyway, don't worry about breaking anything.. You won't. #1 Make sure to remove the screw completely before trying to remove the plate. there should be a raised area or **** where you can slide a flatheaded screwdriver in to pull it up.. Try that and dont worry, k? JUST BE SURE TO UNPLUG AND TAKE THE BATTERY OUT BEFORE YOU DO ANY MAINTANENCE, OK? GREAT LUCK!! LUCKY4LYNN2 ps. PLEASE RATE ME, K?

Amilo Pro V2010 base removal

Hi
The inverter is in the laptop screen, not the base.
1 remove the screw covers and then the screws surrounding the laptop screen
2 gently prise the screen bezel away from the screen, best done when the laptop is opened out almost flat
3 the inverter is at the base of the screen, gently unscrew and unclip the inverter from the LCD screen
4 take replacing the inverter to make sure all the leads are safely housed

5 replace screen bezel and away you go

Replacing RAM chip in a acer aspire 3000

I found the user manual at http://www.synapsenow.com/synapse/data/7117/documents/AS3000-5000_UG_ENG.pdf Page 63 of the acer user manual listed these steps for changing the memory: "1 Turn off the computer, unplug the AC adaptor (if connected) and remove the battery pack. Then turn the computer over to access its base. 2 Remove the screws from the memory cover; then lift up and remove the memory cover. 3 (a) Insert the memory module diagonally into the slot, then (b) gently press it down until it clicks into place. 4 Replace the memory cover and secure it with the screw. 5 Reinstall the battery pack, and reconnect the AC adaptor. 6 Turn on the computer. The computer automatically detects and reconfigures the total memory"
