You need to take off cover locate wires to that switch and cut them loose from CB/WB and buy a Toggle switch to mount outside radio and switch it on/off like to make CB/WB selection..Seems that switch inside is screwed. needs new one. I would rigg it myself. By drilling hole in cover and placing outside toggle with white marker saying Cb top Wb bottom.

My radio receives the wx stations fine, it transmits fine but it will not receive when switched to cb, I have tryed ex speaker, still nothing. mete wont move in receive mode, but when keyed the tx is over...

Here is the list just scratching the surface.
  • Bad antenna
  • Bad coax cable ......grounding externally or internally with shield.
  • Bad/poor ground for antenna..........door to body, painted parts when mounted elsewhere.
  • Antenna installed incorrectly. Nylon grommet must insulate antenna from contact with mounting bracket. Coaxial connector must have contact with bracket for grounding.

I have a uniden pc68ltw cb radio and it keeps blowing the 2amp in line fuse i tried a 5amp but still blows the fuse.i hooked it into another truck to test it but still blew the fuse. something wrong with...

Hello,

have you been using the uniden pc68ltw cb radio without the fuse blowing before?

If the uniden pc68ltw cb radio has not been blowing fuse before, then might be a problem from the radio. This problem should be a power related problem.

The fuse blowing means there is excess of current. So while your trying to refuse, thicken the wire.

Best regards.

I can only get the weather channel but the cb side dosen't work what do you think it can be?

You don't give me much to work with. Is the weather selector switch in the CB position? Do you have an antenna hooked up? Have you checked the SWR on the antenna? What power reading do you get when you key the mike?

Please give me some feed back.

I can't pick up anything...

Hello even though everything is connected properly, have you checked for standing waves on the antenna to radio connection? Also you may have to perform a sensitivity test on the unit. The problem is you need a RF generator for that. Set you RF generator to the frequency that is equal to the CBs middle frequency and modulate the CW with 1KHz at 50% modulation, tune to the middle of the CB band on the radio and set the output of the RF generator to .1uv and loosely couple the signal to the CB antenna with a loop of wire. Your CB should be picking up a 1KHz tone gradually turn the power level down and when the tone cuts off that level is cutoff level, then increase the level until you can hear the tone again when the tone cuts on that value is the sensitivity of the unit. Compare the measured value to the value in the owners documentation. if the sensitivity is low this could denot a problem in the RF/IF section of the CB.
