Hello thtere,
If it is not in the user guide, it ca't do it.
From the guide, here,http://www.manualslib.com/manual/161740/Sony-Walkman-Nw-A1000.html
'Always use SonicStage or CONNECT Player to transfer to the player audio files that you want to play. Audio files transferred with Windows Explorer cannot be played by the player'
Once u lost ur music library in the computer u cant retrieve the data from the device. Always update the software to the latest.Dont go for the Connect Plus it stupid and u will not reach anywhere. Go for Sonic Stage is also from Sony. If u have still connecting probs data might be corrupted. Do the initialization
go to google search for connect music , go to link that says sony admits problem with connect v10 look for link to sony customer and download sound program it worked for me now all my songs are on ive fixed my own problem i posted
firstly all the tracks you want must be converted into mp3 format. You can get hold off mp3 converter software such as Power and winlame. also all the tracks you want has to be imported into the Connect Player software. you should have a cd that comes with the player, it is similar to iTunes with the iPod. i think you can possibly download it from the sony website. when you have them both convert the tracks into mp3s and then import them into the Connect player. From Connect you will be able to transfer the music across. Hope it helps
Hello Scudy,
There have been a lot of problems with this player, and sony has updated the connect software. Go here: http://www.sonydigital-link.com/DNA/ConnectPlayer/Update/Update.asp?l=en and update your software. This should solve all of your problems.
Please let us know if you need any additional information or help.
