You can check the camera's menu if the camera is recognized as "drive" by computer.

Try to Reset, if it doesnt work use your user manual for help, still if problem persists then it might be getting faulty and thus need to see more technical help.

Your Toshiba portable DVD player will have an AC adper [supplied] along with it when you buy it. Plug its DC pin into the "DC IN 12v" marked socket at its rear side. The charge LED at its front will light up. You can get these details from page [17] of its user manual.

When you installed the driver do you have connect the camera to laptop, if the laptop cant't find the camera be connect to laptop when you installed the driver it will failed. Else, as to save life of your camera, suggest that to use card reader instead of connect camera to laptop.

The self test is failing due to a possible mechanical obstruction in the lens gears. To prevent breaking the lens the camera will turn off. Time to get the lens mechanism fixed by a qualified camera tech.
