SOURCE: monitor usb

There should be a USB cable from one of the usb ports on your computer to a small square (upstream) USB port on the back of your monitor. This will activate the four (downstream) usb ports on your monitor.
Good luck...and I hope this is helpful!!

SOURCE: I only get power saving mode on my screen then screen goes black

inside the power pack is a pulse IC chip they fail and cause all kinds of havoc also caps can cause issues unaccounted for, I would start at replacement of the IC about 2 dollars on E bay, and replace any bad capacitors you can see, they look domed or are leaking color from the top creases. after that get back with me and we can either proceed or you can rate me fixya, have a great weekend

SOURCE: Dell 1703FP monitor issue

reduce the hardware acceleration on it. I resolved it by reducing acceleration and changing my screen size. It works. I wanted higher resolution but it doesn't seem to be possible for some reason.
Good luck.

Dell? 1703 FPT. Where can I obtain a manual?

Actually there are not many options to contol manually a Dell monitor.. Here you have a setup manual

http://www.manualslib.com/manual/36463/Dell-Ultrasharp-1703fp.html

Found these specifications.

Up to my knowledge, controls are mostly intuitive. Monitors have some buttons under lover right border, where you can manipulate some properties. Search for them.

Have a Dell E228WFP monitor keeps going into power save mode.

does it go into power save mode with your actually doing something. Like for instance if your typing does it go into power save mode? If its going into power save mode when your not doing anything on it then its as simple as a setting either on the monitor itself or in the power settings within your computer accessible by the control panel and screensaver

My dell in1910n monitor goes into power save mode and I can't access anything. How do I fix it if I can't get to control panel?

Right click on an empty area (not on an Icon) of your desk top and select properties.
Select the Screen Saver tab.

Click on the Power button in the lower right corner.

Use the Turn off monitor: pull down menu and select never. You may want to set the other parameters to Always On for Power schemes and never for System standby: to never. I set my power scheme to the above settings, since I work with photos and graphics and the color will change as the monitor warms up.

My monitor shuts down after one second.

Dell monitors automatically go into power-save mode after a preset amount of time when the computer is inactive. The Dell monitor will go completely black, instead of showing a screensaver. This doesn't mean that your Dell computermag-glass_10x10.gif has shut down. Instead, this allows your monitor to essentially turn off until it's needed again. You can change how long it is before the Dell monitor goes into power-save mode by changing your display settings.
  1. Step 1 Press any key on your keyboard or move your mouse. Either will turn off power-save mode. Alternately, you can press the power button on your Dell computer tower or laptop.
  2. Step 2 Press any key a second time if the monitor goes from power-save to stand-by mode. Stand-by mode allows the screensaver to appear.
  3. Step 3 Enter your user name and password into the login prompt if your computer requires a login. Press "Enter" to begin using your Dell computer.
  4. Step 4 Change the display settings on your Dell monitor to prevent your monitor from going into power-save mode prematurely. Right-click anywhere on your desktop and choose "Properties." Click the "Screensaver" tab and press "Power." Beside "Turn off Monitor," choose a time amount from the drop-down list and press "Apply."

My Dell E176FPc monitor seems to be stuck in power saver mode. There is no way to access the on screen menu. When the monitor is unplugged from the compouter, it shows a self test screen with 3 colored...

Try the monitor if you can on another computer and see if it stays in power save mode. If it does then the monitor is bad.

If you try the monitor on another computer and you get video then that means theres an issue with the original computer.
