Hi I have aproblem of hd. I lost 10 HDD the most of them are from seagat Maxtor and western digital; What is wrong with these manufactrors?
The problem hapen after formating, re install win xp. often I get the message Operating system not found. NDTRL ....something like that
May the problem is the bus, or the sloteK?
or may the cause is jumper positions?
or simply that HDD is dead, and it the case how to fix it?
first download and install Drive Rescue . Click on Find lost drive, select the drive you miss and click "find logical drives". Now you should access all of your files. Save them to another drive and format the hard disk.

If the BIOS does not detect the hard disk, then reseat the hard disk and then check the BIOS again. The hard disk maybe faulty, if so you need a replacement. If the BIOS detects the hard disk and you are installing Windows XP then - The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.The FIX.Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.
Hi "Wambuilyds"
It show no hard disk is detected in your laptop, please check your BIOS to know the Hard disk is detected, also try to re connect your hard disk.. if the problem exists buy new Hard disk and install windows again,,
Thank you
1) First, check your hard disk cable, I recommend you to replace the Hard Disk Cable. 2) If the BIOS doesn't detect your Hard Disk after replacing Hard Disk cable try upgrading your BIOS from the Dell website.
Open your laptop and and fix the hard disk cable. After this start laptop and check the bios if HDD detected then select boot device and select first boot device is Hard disk.Save the setting and restart the window. You are able to open your window.
But
If Hard disk drive is not detected change data cable, power cable of Hard disk.If hard disk is detected in bios follow upper rules.
And
if it is not detected again you should walk into Hard disk repairing center and check hard disk there.
there are no drivers required for a hard drive.
Windows 7 should automatically detect the new hard drive and it should show up in disk management to format or prompt you to format.
Check your cable connections again.
Otherwise your new hard drive may be DOA. Return it to the store that you purchased from.
It appears your hard disk has failed. Go to the BIOS configuration and check if the BIOS detects the hard disk, if not then re-seat the hard drive and then check the BIOS again. If the BIOS still cannot detect the hard disk then it is faulty. To get your computer working again, replace the hard disk, install Windows on the new hard disk plus the motherboard's device drivers and your programs.
Please check that the hard disk is connected properly. If you know that the hard disk is working, check whether it is detected or not. If it's not detected, you'll need to recheck it again with the power supply. If possible, try it to another Laptop so that you can make sure that Hdd isn't the culprit.
In case it's detected and the problem still persists, repair the operating system installation, this will definitely solve your problem. Good luck.
If the BIOS cannot detect the hard disk then probably the hard disk is faulty.
To check if the hard disk is faulty, remove the hard disk and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If this computer cannot detect the hard drive or open the folders and files, then the hard disk is faulty.
To get your computer operating again, replace the hard drive with a new one and install Windows on the new hard drive plus the computer's device drivers and your programs.
there are 2 things about reboot that is the reboot from the bios or reboot from the windows... if you mean you can't reboot and there are no hard disk as your primary hard disk try to check if the bios detected the hard disk. by pressing Delete key when you start to reboot the computer... make sure there are someone with you who knows something about the computer BIOS. if not keep in touch.. in Main menu in BIOS you will find If the computer detected the hard disk, if not detected try to check the IDE/SATA cable or Power Cable of your hard disk. Check if that hard disk is the first boot in the Boot section of the BIOS, if not then change the Hard Disk as your first boot.. That will help you boot your computer properly in windows..
