As a technical support for a computer manufacturer, HDD Security Password which is asked upon computer boot up process cannot be retrieved unless you remember what it was. This HDD as well cannot be reformatted as you will be asked for the Password upon doing so. Resolution to the problem is to replace the HDD. Files can no longer be retrieved as well in this case.
HDD password? Is the laptop encrypted? Unless it s a system password set in the BIOS. You'll have to know what that is or reset it. Reseting the BIOS requires taking apart the laptop and finding the CMOS battery and shorting it.
You should try www.unlockbiosrecovery.com and for $20 they will send you a bios master password that will clear any bios passwords set. I use them in my laptop repairs quite often.They also unlock hard drives on laptops for most brands.
The disk is either damaged or the USB interface is damaged. 1) You could try opening the external case and connect the disk to your computer directly (Using IDE/S-ATA cables) 2) Format the HD and use data recovery software/service.

there is no any soluction for reseting HDD bay password .u should reset password when u know old password .bcoz this is hardware password ......if u want to reset any other password like Startup just unpluged battery from motherboard & also disconnect laptop battery & press power button for 30 sec.u get Reset COMS ......
