I will try and keep this short. I have a Motorola Razr (puchased in the USA..... this will make sense later) and I lend it to my brother when he visits me from Canada. (Roaming charges for Canadians using their phone in the US is insane) He too has a Motarola phone that he brought with him. The Charger that he brought with him was for a Canadian phone. Apparently, you cannot use a charge for a Canadian phone, on a USA contracted phone..... I'm not sure why, but it is the case. He attempted to charge my USA phone with his Canadian Charger and the screen went blank. The phone was still on and could even receive calls. Even when the calls came in, the screen still remained blank. I won't bore you with any more details.
Here is how I fixed it:
- Unplug phone from Canadian Charger
- Take the battery out of the phone.
- Plug in USA built charger (without the battery in the phone)
- The phone attempt to charge
- Screen should turn on. Wait till screen indicates (Cannot charge battery)
- Plug battery in.
- Hold down power button to turn on the phone.
- Phone should be in working order.

I don't claim to be an expert. This may only apply to my particular situation. Hope it helps if you happen to use the incorrect charger. Take care.

I was texting on my phone when my phone screen went completely black. i thought i was maybe dead or i powered it off but i didnt.

Have you tried force shutting down your iPhone? To do this, hold down the Power Button and the Home Button at the same time for 5-10 secs, then power on your iPhone again, check if it works. Or try to reset your iPhone using iTunes (Backup your data first). If not, maybe the display of your phone is malfunctioning, send it to the nearest Apple Service Center for repair.

My motorola droid screen went completely black. i wasn't using it at the time. i still hear that i'm getting messages and i can receive incoming calls but i can't see anything on the screen.

try taking the battery completely out and putting it back in, it's called a "Hard Shutdown" restart the device and it should be back to normal operation, if not, see your local Verizon Wireless store.

Blank screen, cant hear anything on the ear piece!

replace the phone, that is symptomatic of a phone that has a compression crack, (sat down it was in the pocket, shut too tight, etc) There is no repair, but if you have the insurance it is covered as damage.

Dropped phone in water works but no mic or sound, and black scren

You gotto take it to the service station Sherwood, there is a possibility of the small speaker connectors getting fried coz of a short in the moterboard inside the phone. Other experiments may spoil the phone for no good.
