If you want audio as well, it will depend on what kind of audio connection your tv has next to the VGA (computer monitor) connection. If it looks like the normal RCA audio, (red and white plugs) you will need to get a male headphone jack (to plug into your computer headphone or speaker out jack) to stereo RCA cable so you would have a headphone jack on one side of the cable and a red and white plug on the other side. Now if your TV just has what look like a headphone jack next to the VGA (computer monitor plug) you will need to buy a male to male stereo headphone jack cable. for both of these, just make sure the cable you get it long enough, or buy an extension.

What connection do I need to use Magnavox 17" Model 17MD255V/17]TV/DVD as a monitor on a computer? Error message says "No PC Signal" Monitor cord is on. Power cord is on. What's missing? thx

You need to let the Magnavox know what signal it should be displaying. Look for a "Source" button on the remote or menu and choose PC or whichever slot you are hooked up, say HDMI.

I tried to hook up my dvd player and i get picture but no sound. when i put the cords in the back of the monitor there is yellow red blue green holes no white spot. Do i need different cords. I have tried...

That could be a result to that TV either not having the ports you need, or you may need different cords. On my TV. With the 360 they have two cords. Red,white, and yellow and also green blue and i think red but im not 100% sure. You may need to find a different port on your TV for your cords, or do what I do and have your VCR hooked up to your tv, and your DvD player hooked up thorugh your VCR. Hope this helps and don't forget to rate ^^
(and yes that yellow and white are a necessity)

Computer turns on and fan starts running, but the monitor has nothing on it. All the cords are pluged in.

unplug monitor power cord wait for 5 minutes then turn computer off and re hook up monitor and computer if the moniter does not come on then yo have a defective video card, but you can test it with another monitor to be sure. normally if the monitor was bad it would say no signal.

Power supply to Mag 780 Model

No, it has a normal, seperate power cord. But the socket in the monitor is very small, it's a small round one. When facing the monitor from the back, it's located directly to the right of the monitor-stand, at the bottom-side of the screen. Just put the monitor on it's side to see it clearly.

It's all explained with pictures in your monitor's manual which you can download from the official website here: http://www.maginnovision.com/Support/Downloads.aspx?sn=464

Monitor

Monitors need power cords to function, & there is nowhere near enough power in the data cable to power the monitor. So, it sounds like the power cable got pulled out somehow and is now lying on the floor. The power cable will be a small plug like you have on a radio or other similar devices instead of the standard sized plug that older monitors have. Once you plug the power cord back in, it should be fine.

Good luck!
