I bought a Galileo telescope second hand and it didn't have papers or instructions. How can I determine which telescope it is and get instructions? One mounted piece is labeled "Mars' Eye Finderscope." Another is "Astronomical Reflector D= 76 F= 700 mm." I measured it at 27" long and 5" diameter. Thanks!!!

The General Purpose Telescopes that I was advised to look at don't match my telescope. Mine is 27" long and 5" in diameter. The General Purpose telescopes aren't like this. Also, I didn't see a G118DX anywhere on the webpage.
Sinde I'm not sure if you have my original request, I'm repeating that my telescope was bought second hand with no instructions. It has a "Mars' Eye Finderscope" and an "Astronomical Reflector D=76 F= 700 m." It has a mirror so it's either a reflector model or the combined type, not the refractor. Thanks!

Hey Ginko, That appears to be the one! I printed off the instructions, and it's very similar although not identical. I'm studying it more to be sure. Thank you! I bought this for my dad's birthday and can't wait to try it out!

Yahoo! I think the experts found the correct telescope model and the instructions for it. I bought the telescope for my dad's birthday & I'm hoping that now I can set it up for him! Thanks, that was quick help and got me moving forward on this!

Sorry these are imported REFLECTOR style telescopes on a small equatorial mount.

No manuals exist for this exact scope but there are many just like it-- here is Meade telescope's manual for almost the same identical telescope.

You may be able to call Galileo telescopes and order the parts.

http://www.galileosplace.com/

If not and if the eyepiece is a 1.25 inch (measure the hole in the focuser), then you can buy eyepieces and weights from several different retailers on-line:

http://www.optcorp.com/

The screw you can find at a well stocked hardware store.

We have no instructions for a left eye dominant person to set the telescope

There are NO special instructions based on which eye is dominant. The scope is setup exactly the same way.

Either close the NON dominant eye or put you hand over the non dominant eye, and then look through the scope.
