Cannot find my HP psc 1315 printer using mac os x maverick

I've managed to get the scanning to work on Mavericks! Basically my all-in-one printer is the psc 1315 and the procedure requires installing SANE and HPLIP

It is not a very simple procedure, but is the only free solution that I know and works well.

Psc 1315 often hangs up and fails to print page 2 when I select double sided printing. Then cannot delete the file from the printer queue. It says printing page 4 of 2, when there were only 2 pages to...

I am unsure of the OS that you are using however I am providing the general steps with respect to Vista, If you use WIn XP then change accordingly.

Go to the printers folder, right click on the 1315, Run as administrator, Properties, (continue), Device Settings make sure "Duplex Unit (for 2 sided printing)" is set to "Installed" under installable options, OK. When printing go to the Finishing tab and select "Print on both sides".

Try printing.

Scan from hp psc 1315 to Mac OSX

first remove the printers folder, then the drivers manually one by one from the receipts folder, then remove the hp software. Deselect the hp in the printer preferences and then install the hp software again. And then it should work. Check in the printer preferences for your printer, If the hp fax is in there. Remove it and select the printer and thats it.

1.printers folder is located on the hard drive-library-printers
2.reiceipts folder is located same-library-reiceipts
3.Download the software from hp website.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

It automatically print a page everytime I start my hp psc 1315

Hi Siddarth

In HP PSC 1315 printer after replacing new Ink Cartridges the printer always prints Alignment test page every time you turn it ON.To resolve this problem you must complete the alignment process.

Steps

1.Turn the printer ON.
2.Once its ON, it will print the Alignment page. Place the page in the scanner bed correctly.
3.Then Press START SCAN button.
4.The power light will start blinking, wait until the power lights turns solid.
5.Now Alignment process is over.Discard the paper from scanner.
6.Turn the printer OFF and then ON, it will not print that page again.

Note:Please follow this steps every time when you replace the Cartridges.

Thanks

HP PSC 1315, scanner and Mac os

To scan documents on Mac OS X using your HP PSC 1315, you need to download HP's "Device Manager" software which is available here : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-41992-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=374572&os=219&lang=en

I just installed the software and am now scanning problem-free.
