Ok so my player has been fine for the last 6 months or so of having it but recently I tried adding songs and they won't show up on the player. I try to sync them on again but the computer says they are "already on device". I don't know how to delete songs to try and start over.

  • sebnshe Aug 06, 2008

my player doesn't even have the "delete song" option in the submenu like the owners manual says, and when I try to access the songs from my computer, it doesn't even show the music file, only video and pictures and recordings.

If you have a V1 like I do, you can delete songs by simply removing them from you library in the Windows Media Player. Next time you sync it it should show that it removed those songs.

By the way, to figure out which version you have, turn on your mp3 player and go to:
    Settings
    Info

If the version starts with 01 then you have a version 1
if it starts with 03 you have a v2.

If your device OS is version 1.0 (like mine) then the option to delete songs from within the player simply does not exist according to Customer Service from Sansa. If it is version 2.0 then the option is there.
The only solution I found was to open the Sansa as a Drive from my desktop and manually delete songs and folders.

Just purchased the mp828 and it will hold songs, but if I delete these songs from my computer (to save disk space) they are also deleted from my mp3 player each time I plug it into the usb. How do I add...

You need to tell the program that syncs up not to sync on connect.

I never have this enabled. they assume too much, and I like things the way I set them.

Go to options and look for this setting.

Dont know how to delete songs from player

You may have automatic synchronization set up with Windows Media Player - if this is true, disable it. If you don't use manual sync, then you will have no control over what goes on or off your mp3 player.

To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/mediaadvice/0085.mspx#EDF

To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

My Directions:

1. Connect your mp3 player to the computer

2. Open Windows Media Player

3. Click on the icon of your Mp3 player on the left-hand side of the Library

4. Click on the Songs, Tracks, or other Music Folder

5. Find a song or songs that you want to delete

6. Left-click the song once to highlight it

7. Press the “Delete” button on your computer’s keyboard

Help plz

Use Windows Media Player to delete the songs. Connect the Sansa to the computer, open Windows Media Player, and go to the Sync tab -if it asks you if you want to sync the songs automatically, tell it "no." Find the songs on your player in the Sync tab and left-click a song that you don't want. Hit delete on your computer's keyboard.

Can't delete songs off of coby mp3 player

If you're hooking them up via the USB cable, you should be able to just open the player's folder, select the songs you want to remove, and delete the songs from the folder.
