I have a lg lmv 1645sb microwave/fan comb. I have no power to anything. The outlet is hot. I replaced a 20 amp slow burning fuse which did nothing. Where do I go from here.

Hello,

if it does not power up, then it means its having a power problem. it might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.

This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.

Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

I wish you the best of luck.

Take care.......

LG LMV 1680 ST shows error AC-1 and will not heat. The turntable does not turn either. The exhaust fan still works and the control panel still responds. What does this code mean?

Check the fuse. Also check out the safety switch by the unit door. If not closed when door is closed, no power is applied to either the turntable or the tube.

LG model LMV1638SW microwave intermittently runs.

The microwave runs intermittently. You should open it up and look at the connections to see if any have darkened or burn like signs. If you find that, you can either replace the (usually plastic) connection piece, or just remove it and reconnect the wires (that were housed in it), to their connection points. If you want, you can use electric tape to cover those metal wire connectors, but it's not necessary it nothing else is touching.

I have a 20 year old GE JCM140H over the range microwave which has always worked just fine. Last week everything just "died" no lights, no fan, no display, no microwave. I thought that I had...

You'll have to remove the cabinet cover to access the fuse. It is in line with the power cord. 20 Amp, slow blow.

One of the screws on the back of the cover may be a security TORX (the kind with a pin in the center of the head). Usually, if you tap on it with a hammer, you can remove it with a pair ov Vise-Grip pliers.

LG Microvave just stopped all at once as if the power went out. Nothing will respond. I checked the outlet is fine.

you may have blown a fuse if there is no power display...the fuse unfortunately is located in control panel... it usually is either a 15 amp or 20 amp fuse... do not put a larger one in or a smaller. to test the fuse if you cant visible see it is bad you will need to ohm out and should get continuity ...if the fuse is good and you have no display most likely the pcb or board is bad.... good luck

Help with repair for LG 2055ST

Check the internal fuse. Unplug it, unscrew and take off the cover, the fuse should be easily found in the back by the power cord. I tlooks like a regular fuse but is white instead of clear glass because microwave fuses are special. You'll have to measure it with a meter as a result and be sure to replace it with the same kind. (try finding them at radio shack) Hopefully there isn't something more serious also.
