I'm not sure what you're trying to do but it sounds like something is wrong for sure. You can probably adjust your resolution if that is the problem through "contrl panel" in personalization. What are you trying to install?

My MSI U180 netbook resolution changed to 1024x768 after update and I cant see the lower part of my screen including taskbar. How can i revert to the original resolution ie.1024x600?

You do not say if you have tried to change the resolution yourself or what your OS is.
You can usually get to the resolution options by right clicking on a space on the desktop.
I have Windows 10 and right click > Display Settings and Resolution is right there.
You may have to Google for Earlier OS

Unable to attain 1024x768 screen resolution on my generic pnp monitor (asus eee pc 900hd)

Verify that you have the correct and most recent video drivers installed on your system. The video card is what delivers the appropriate resolution to a monitor.
This will depend upon if you have the default installed Linux OS designed for the Netbook or if you installed Windows XP on it.

It's a driver problem, Check here, click on refine search by: Operative system, check Windows XP, then on the other option click on Display, you'll see 3 options for download, download and install all 3 of them, maybe you'll need to reboot, then you can change you resolution to fit your needs.

I wish to change the screen resolution of ASUS netbook EEE PC 1005 HA with 10.5" from 1024x600 to 1024x768+ pl help me what to do

I think you mean 800X600 to 1024X768 or higher..
The reason why you cannot increase the resolution and the bit color to higher than 8 or 16 bit color is because the incorrect video driver was installed.
Download and install the correct video driver for your model laptop.
You can download the device drivers from ASUS WEB site.Select your model motherboard/computer/laptop, and make sure you select driversthat matches your Windows operating system. Please click on this link to theirWEB support site : - http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

I have installed viewsonic va1716w monitor using windows xp. I am unable to set its resolution to 1440X900. from display properties it going from 1024X768 to 1280X1024

It is possible that the video driver cannot support 1440X900 resolution.
Try installing the latest video driver and then try the higher screen resolution.

I intalled windows in my lap top and it oppened a 80% screen only you know why?

Two thing can cause this problem.
1. The screen resolution is set too low. Try changing the screen resolution to 1024X768
2. If you cannot alter the screen resolution then the video driver was not installed or the wrong viseo driver was installed.

You can download any/all the Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers. Use this link: -

Cannot change resolutions.(monitor)

This could be caused by a variety of problems:

1. The video/graphic card does not support that resolution because:

a. it does not have sufficient display memory (at least 2 or 4 megabytes is requiered, if you don't have this amount buy a new video card)

b. the video card driver has not been installed properly or is corrupted (reinstall the video driver)

2. The monitor does not support 1024x768 resolution

Change your resolution, follow this procedure:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/display_change_screen_resolution.mspx?mfr=true

Please provide your entire system specifications, including the monitor.
