Olympus VN-2100PC I don't have a problem as such but just wanted to know if it is possible to burn recorded information from the Olympus VN-2100PC onto a cd? I have tried but it appears the file extention is not recognised

Yes, I too would like to be able to transfer from the Olympus Wave Player program onto a CD! I use "Sonic Record Now version 7" for burning CDs on my laptop, but cannot locate the files from Olympus, and there doesn't seem to be any means within the Olympus program to transfer the files to another location for better access. Does anyone have a solution?

I transferred all of my family's old reel to reel tapes to the olympus wave digital player, then transferred them to my laptop computer hoping to copy them from the laptop to CD's. There does not seem to be any way to do this. Can anyone help? Keep it simple please. I'm relatively new at this. Thanks

Transfering a stored PC recording

The recordings simply reside on your pc, but not in the "Digital Wave Player" software. The software is merely there to let you play the recordings, probably because they are not in a native Windows format.

If the recordings are "Wave, .wav" files as suggested by the software, then simply locate the files you want to put on disc... I am guessing you want to burn on cd.

Then, use a burning program such as Nero to add these files and burn to disc.

If you don't have Nero, then you would need to figure out what type of burning software your machine has installed and go from there.

Is it possible to rewind and overwrite dictation with Olympus VN-2100PC

Unfortunately with this device the VN-2100PC it is not possible to rewind and overwrite any dictations that were done. Each time the record button is pressed and then the stop button is pressed it will create a new file. They may want to look for a DS-2300 or a DS-2400 recorder as these devices have the ability to rewind and allow you to dictate over previously recorded information in the same file. There is a button on these devices called "New" that allows you to stay within the same file until you press New to start the next audio file.

Olympus VN-2100PC exported files

The only way I have found to convert the files is to use Nero or ITunes. Those are the only two methods I've found to read the file. ITunes can both burn them to an audio cd and convert the file to mp3.
