Problem is only with snapping the picture. The screen started out being blurred only AFTER the photo was taken. Now the entire screen is black (no image) after the photo is taken. It just started the blur to black out of the blue (no drops or being knocked around).

My cannon power shotA4000IS suddenly stop showing/focused pictures the scree show a blurred image of photo taken?

If you are convinced you did not switch the camera to manual settings, and the blur stays, please contact the nearest Canon certified service centre close to you. But before check the settings on the camera and start putting it on automatic.

Is there any way I can clear up a blurry picture on this camera once the pic is already taken?

On TV shows, they can take a blurry picture and enhance it to crystal clarity. In real life, however, those kinds of miracles aren't possible. In a photo editing program like Photoshop Elements, you can bring up the sharpness a little but you eventually reach a point where the picture no longer looks like a normal picture. The slogan is "garbage in...garbage out"...meaning you can only do so much to what you have to work with.

It wont focus and the photo is blurred

If the camera is showing a black or distorted screen when set to photo, and photos that are taken with the black screen also show up black or distorted, then this would likely be a CCD imager failure, a common occurrence for your model camera.
If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this linkfor more info.

I cannot see anything when in camera, film, or view mode. When I snap a photo, it sounds like a picture was taken and the flash still goes off, but nothing is displayed on the screen. Only when I attempted...

Does it show pictures on the computer or is it black images, if they are black, your cameras lens cover could be stuck, it opens up when the lens is fully open, dirt-sand and dust or old grease causes the problem. otherwise your LCD on the camera could be off by mistake, (Do a camera reset) or a bad LCD

No image -- just colors on led and photo

I found the same fault, but for me it is intermittent. I have tried all sorts of things to clear it, but the best seems to be leave it turned off for a while. I bought my Ixus 400 in Sept 03 and the fault started in Jun 07. It shows already taken pictures with no problem on review on the LED screen, but the screen blurs (with motion) and records that same blurred image.
