You need to clean the printer. See your manual for instructions. It is probably dust on the laser lens

Call 1-800-835-6100. Xerox knows there is a problem with those displays and will replace it free of charge. Thats a known problem they will resolve.
You should be able to open your browser, usually internet explorer and type in the printers IP address in the address box. That will show you all the printer information you need.

Open the top cover. Remove the drum (part with long green handle). Below the drum you will see a strip of glass about 4-5 inches long. Take a cloth and wipe across the glass.
This will normally clear up any white lines in your print.

EAch cartridge has a small ( about 1/4 inch square) stainless steel color metal tab at the end of the cartridge opposite the refill cap end. The surface of this little tab is visible when the cartridge is "low" on toner and this causes the machine to give the message to change the cartridge. As the cartridge gets older I've noticed that this tab moves to the exposed position more readily, which causes the message to appear. If you google how to reset the position of this tab, then the message will not appear. EVerytime I refill the toner of a cartridge I check to make sure to reset the position of this little metal tab.
It is difficult to describe how to reset the position of the tab. You have to stick a small regular screw driver into the slot below where the metal tab appears and find the lever which can be pushed to reset the position of the tab. You can likely find photos of this procedure on google.
