Why does freezer's alarm sound every 12 hrs?

There could be an ice build up sensor on the coil. try turning it off and using a hair dryer to melt any ice on the coil. This would be inside the rear of the freezer, you would direct the hot air into the vent that the cold air normally comes out of.

Hi, I have an Electrolux French door fridge. the freezer keeps developing ice over the back panel and then the freezer shuts down. I have turned the whole unit off for 36 hrs to defrost and then turn it...

You have a defrost issue causing frost/ice accumulation on the back panel of the freezer and stopping air flow across the low side.
When this happens the air flow is stopped to the fresh food and its gets warmer by the day until it is finally defrosted. What is your model #???

How to defost inside shelfs

The best way to defrost is to empty it, unplug it, prop open the doors, and put a fan blowing on it. This could take a day or more. If this has been pretty bad for a long time you might have wet (and frozen) insulation (inside the walls of the freezer where you cannot see it). If so, you should give it an extra day or two to drip out. You might also have a bad or dirty seal around the door. Clean this thoroughly, and inspect it closely to make sure it seals well. Good luck.

I have a brand new French door electrolux refrigerator. It was just delivered today. The water dispenser doesn't give cold water - just room temperature. It's only been plugged in for 8 hrs but I...

We have had two different Electrolux French door refrigerators, over the past 2 years and the water never becomes cold. We were told this is because the the storage tank in this particular refrigerator is so small. You just have to drink your water with ice. Unfortunately, we have had recurrent problems with the ice maker as well! Sorry - but these refrigerators are very problematic and I would not recommend them to anyone!!!!!!

You have a defrost problem, Frost builds up and prevents air getting to the fresh food section. Could be a defost heater, bimetal or timer issue. Sounds like a service call is needed....

Refrigerator side by side neither will won't stay cold

You have an automatic defost malfunction. There is a timer (or circuit board) which controls the run and defost modes of your refrigerator. Once in defost, there is a heater that comes on to melt frost behind back panel. Once a certain temperature is reached behind the panel, a defost thermostat (or bi-metal) cuts off the heater. This maintains your frost-free operation.

Our caravan fridge electrolux rm4206 gets cold on both gas and 240v mains but does not seem cold enough ie freezer compartment is not quite frozen and fridge compartment is not cold enough. Any...

remove the fridge from caravan, now turn upside down and leave for as long as possible. what this does is get rid of any air locks in the gas. once left for a month or too turn back and leave for a day to setal and refit to caravan.this should solve your problem, it has been tried and tested on our caravan and worked. (This will not work on a domestic house fridge because they work on a different system)
