A105-s2716 After about 20-30 minutes of use, my screen starts to flicker. The other day it went black and showed a couple of light colored lines at the top of the screen. I keep it plugged in all the time but don't always turn on the AC. I open and close the laptop each time I use it. I've run the system checks that are offered by Toshiba and everything came out fine. I hooked it up to an exterior monitor and it didn't have any problems. Any idea of what I am looking at? And depending what it is, is it worth getting it fixed or buying a new one? I bought this one in 4/06.

Hi,
The problem with the LCD screen , if the external display is working fine. The LCD needs a replacement. The same thing happened on my Dell and we had to replace the Lcd. The same can occur because the LCD cable gets damaged when you open or close the LCD

Thanks

I have a 52" westinghouse

Ok you have a lot of things going on here. Your first thing with the lines can be your T-con board or your Signal board or the screen itself. The second thing black screen you would have to be more specific? Is your back light on and you have no image? If that's teh case then I would replace the T-con board or the Signal board. If by black screen you mean there is no light on the screen from the backlight inverter then your BAcklight inverter or the backlight itleft might be bad. and ontop of that you might have the problem that we started with also. You can get westinghouse parts from www.interliquidparts.com You have to order by part numbers so you have to get the number from the actual part of your TV.

Color flickers on and off

I went to the Sony support page for your model.(link below)http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=KP61V85&LOC=3
They are undergoing maintenance right now, so I couldn't find any answers for you. I would check back with the website to see if they can help you. If the Standby timer light flashes, you may need to have the TV repaired. There is a "Hot Topics" section for "How to troubleshoot television picture issues" that will probably be very helpful to you.
