insert the memory card into a software set(eg nokia 5800, 5233, 6120c etc)
Select setting>data mgr> memory>format the memory card.

Hi, slide up the Write protection switch which is white in color for the Memory Card Adapter to remove Write protection and Slide down to enable write protection of the Memory Card.

You'll probably find a write protection switch on the side of the card. Just move the switch to the unlocked position (you probably moved it by accident). Then try formatting it will work.

For the microSD card you'll need the large adapter (picture left side)
to unlock.

Insert the microSD card into the Adapter with the arrow upwards:
put the microSD card directly into the Adapter on the left.
(The Adapter on the right below is miniSD, used for other size cardreader slots)

1. Slide the switch up and down. Repeat this 3 times.
2. Let it stay on the Lock position for 30 seconds.
3. Slide the switch up to unlock the card.
4. Try to put data onto the SD card (Adapter) with the microSD card in,
on the SD card reader slot of your computer
or
Pull out the microSD card and put it in your previous used device, to
see if transferring files will work.

Well,there's nothing that you can do except replacing it, because the memory card is damaged.

You problem is most likely to be the fact that your micro chip is a HC chip. HC chips have a new program that is not backwards compatible to regular sd host ports. This is a simple fix, however. If you don't trust downloading programs for it on the internet, just go to target or walmart and get a USB SD card reader, and a SD adapter if you don't already have one. The usb adapter should only be like $10 at most.

is the card being read on the other device like camera/mobile etc.

if yes than card is okay

its the pc which is not compatible with your card. in this case u cannot do much but buy a card reader costing 5 usd
