It's been a long time since I've seen this model, but with Acer's I remember the button generally being either near the power button (would be a button with an LED light behind it) or as a little switch on the front, lower side (basically under the touchpad)
The button itself will have an icon that looks like a radio tower with little' ) ) )' coming off of it in in different sizes. If you don't see it, look at the F keys for the same symbol, then use the Fn button and press that key. I know you said you looked everywhere but hopefully this helps.
Sometimes there is a software switch also that will allow you to turn on / off the wireless, verify that when you try and connect to a wireless it doesn't ask if you want the computer to flip the switch for you.

The button in question is to the immediate right of your power button in a group of 3 buttons
(item 3) right in the middle of the keyboard just under the screen and acer logo as shown below....

Hi, in the upper side of the keyboard there are 3 centered bottons, the one to the right active/deactive WiFi (it has a parabolic antenna icon), when it's active there should be an blue indicator on, if not just press the botton to turn on the WiFi feature.

I did a quick search and it might be the F3 key. Only do it if it looks like an antennae with signals emitting from it.

Depending on your version of Windows, you may be able to get to the "Manage wireless adapter" screen and right click on your wireless adapter and turn it on from there.

Please leave feedback if you found this solution helpful. Thanks.

Located beside the keyboard are application buttons. These buttons are called easy-launch buttons. They are: WLAN, Internet, email, Bluetooth, Arcade and Acer Empowering Technology.

Your Wireless Communication button may be above the keyboard if it is not beside the keyboard.

Have you tried navigating past your homepage? I would open your browser and change your homepage. Your browser could have been hijacked and something changed within the browser itself. Start by trying to go to another page, see if anything loads. I will attach a link to download a spyware cleanup software called Malwarebytes, it's free, run that and restart. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will see an option to download and an option to buy, click on download that is the free version. Free Anti Malware Malware Removal

My PS3 is telling me that it "succeeded" in obtaining my IP adress, but now its telling me that an error occured during communication with the server

To me it sounds like you are hooking your PS3 through a computer to the internet. If so there is an easy fix for your problem. On your computer open Control Panel, and then open Network Connections. Right-Click on your internet connection and select properties, then on the top tab select Advance. This will open up your network sharing. In the box that says (Internet Connection Sharing), check the box that says (Allow other network users to connect through this computer's connection) click OK. Once you do this it will promt you with a message that some modifications made will not take place till the connection is reset. Then just log off the internet and re-log back on. Then proceed to start your PS3 and redo the internet connection settings on the PS3.
