Not working My chamberlain garage door opener stop working, I press the button and it does not open or close, all it does is make this clicking noise and nothing is in the way of the sensors for the door to go up and down.

In addition to the ANT suggestion, are you able to open/close the door with the button first? And then check the 12-volt battery in the remote control.

Work-around: Modern cars have the ability to learn the motor's code. Then I use the built-in openers on my cars to open the garage door as work-around. All you have to do is initiate the learning process by pressing a button on the motor, and then keep pressing your built-in opener's button until the light becomes steady. Try to let your car stay as close to the motor as possible.

Hi, it is probably the safety photo beams out of alignment or not working, when this happens the garage opener goes into 'dead man' operating mode, ie you need to keep the button pressed for the door to operate. Check the sensors in the doorway. Sounds like they may be misaligned. They need to be pointing at one another to work properly.

Is the door stuck in the open position? If so the trolley is probably jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. Loosen the chain enough to free the trolley and then run the opener until the door is closed. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' on the side of the motor unit and turn this control 2 complete turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.

To answer your question the opener is in vacation mode. Press and hold for 3 seconds the button on your wall control with the lock icon. The green light will stop flashing and you will be back in business.

You need to reprogram the remotes by briefly pushing the learn button on the garage door opener until it flashes once, then release the button on the garage door opener.

Now press the remote button once until you hear the garage door opener click, now press the remote button once again and the remote should be programmed to work for that garage door opener.

DO NOT press and hold the garage door opener learn button for more than 10 seconds or you'll erase all programs and have to relearn all the remotes, including your car ones.

You have a door sensor problem. Either your main light bulb is burned out or you don't have one in your opener. The clicking sound you hear is the relay for the light. Both of the door sensors should have a small light that is lit. Tweak them until they are.

IT MAY BE AGAINST THE TRAVEL LIMITER BOLT.

IF IT IS YOU WILL NEED TO UNPLUG THE UNIT REMOVE THE COVER AND TURN THE MOTOR BY HAND TO BACK OFF THE PRESSURE.

MAKE SURE YOU GO PAST THE LIMIT SWITCH.
ADJUST THE LIMIT SO TH DOOR DOES NOT HIT THE BOLT.
