This will depend if whether or not you are on a companies telephony system or not. If you are on a telephony system, you will probably need to contact your telephony person and have them wipe/reset the old messaged, then you will be prompted to record your personal message. If that is not the case, then you can simply access the voicemail system and record your message in lieu of the generic one that is being used. Just follow the prompts when in the voicemail system and make the desired selections that will route you to the message set-up.

I was able to change the message. What I am talking about is when I go to retrieve the message left in the General Mailbox...it says the old company name?

  • Anonymous Mar 16, 2011

Sorry that should have said "I was able to change the greeting for the General Delivery Mailbox"?

You should be able to change that as well by performing the same intructions. Are you using a companies telephony system?

A telephony system is where you basically have many extensions, and there is a department that handles it. The routing of calls, voicemail setup, and dialed numbers.

How to leave a voicemial message

There are three elements to voice mail; having a Panasonic brand voice mail system, recording the greetings, and setting call forward conditions. Which ones have you done?

The default access to voice mail is extension 500 on the intercom, but we used to use 165. When you dial it, the lady says "welcome to the Panasonic voice processing system". If she doesn't or you're asked for a password, or you have not done the tutorial, then you need to do that and it guides you to the setup of the greetings, name, and password change. After that, you dial *710x 500 (or your VM access) # on the inercom to set call forward to voice mail, with 4 being no answer (my preference since it gives me the option of answering the 2nd call or letting it fall to voice mail), or 5 for Busy/No Answer.

The message manager (mailbox 998) and the system owner (mailbox 999) has the ability to access and change how the voice mail system performs. The owner can change your name for the directory or reset your password and/or
setup or delete your mailbox.

Our company uses the Panasonic KX-T7730 phone system. When I change the answering message, it is immediately followed by an outdated message. Changing the message works, but the old message still fo

When we set up a Panasonic voice mail system, you have a menu that plays. Usually, there is a Company Greeting, then a Custom Greeting. They are changed from mailbox 998 option 5 then 1 or 3 depending on which greeting you want to change.

Of course, you may not have a TVA or TVx voice mail system, but I'm guessing that's what you have. In all cases, the Company greeting plays in front of the Custom greeting. By default in a TVA it's probably both greetings 1. You can log into the system and play them without changing them to verify what's where.

How do I check my voice messages on my KX-T7453. It is not in the handbook.

True, it's not in the "handbook" because it's in the subcriber's guide to whatever voice mail system you have. Try looking for it, but in the meantime, dial 165 and see what happens. If it's a Panasonic brand TVx box, it should answer and either ask for a passoword or you'll be listening to messages.

The owner of the voice mail system, called the message manager, will have the password for mailbox 998. That's where general delivery messages get left sometimes. The system owner has the password for mailbox 999. That's the administrator's mailbox and it lets you change passwords and set up the dial by name directory.

How do I change Voice Mail on my phone?

Dial your extension. Wait for the greeting to say that you are at your voice mailbox. This is also the "Quick Voice Mail Tutorial Set Up."
Follow the instructions provided in the tutorial. You will be asked to enter your name (or company name), password and greeting. Write down the password and keep it in a safe place.
Record other greetings, if needed. After the tutorial, you have an option to add different messages for different situations. Press "311" to change your general greeting. Use "312" to record a message for when the line is busy. Dial "315" to record a temporary greeting for when you are away for an extended period of time, such as vacation. Good Luck

I'm trying to set up my voice mail and I am getting a message "mailbox locked". Is there a generic password I can enter that will work? Too, can you send me a step-by-step go-by to set up my mailbox?...

If you recieve the message "mailbox locked" then the password was incorrectlyentered too many times.
To reset your password press feature 983
the screen should say log:
enter 1020000 (default password) if you have a 3 digit intercom number, 120000 if you have a 2 digit intercom number
the display should say mbox, AA, and othr above the three soft keys
press the mbox soft key
the screen should say add, del, and chng above the soft keys
press the chng soft key
enter in the mailbox number you wish to reset the password on
press ok
the screen should say reset and next above the soft keys
press the reset soft key
press the Rls key
your password should be reset to 0000

As far as setting up your Mailbox, press your open mailbox key or press feature 981.
When prompted to enter your password enter the password of 0000.
The voice mail will make you change and confirm your password at this point. your password can be between 4 and 8 digits but cannot start with a 0.
after the password is changed the voice mail will make you record your name for the company directory. once the name recording is accepted, the mailbox will be at your main screen.
To record a greeting for your mail box,
"8"for admin
"2" for greetings
"1" for record
"1" for primary greeting
"'1" to record your greeting
at the tone record your greeting
"#" to end recording
after you record press 1 to listen 2 to retry or # to accept
press "rls" key when finished
