It's actually hidden inside the guitar neck....well it is for the warriors of Rock guitar for PS3. I have one of these but no dongle so if anyone has one please let me know.I have bought a wireless - ee96b211-8ef1-4fdd-9c2a-202ece6747f3.jpg

And this is an adapter for PS3 which allows the console to receive wireless signal from wireless guitar. I have 5 guitar hero guitars so before anyone nitpicks I am aware that this wireless dongle is for my Kramer Striker guitars. I have 2 working wireless receivers and am willing to swap if someone has a wireless USB dongle for a PS3 warriors of Rock guitar. Not the triangular shaped one but the little one which is identical to Skylanders Portal USB. The one which is hidden inside the neck which I included photo of above. Thanks

The Kramer Striker wireless guitar is for PS2 so it won 't work on PS3 without an adapter to plug the PS2's dongle that came with it.

When my son tries to play his guitar all the lights are flashing on it and we cant figure out how to get it working..

The flashing lights on the controller mean the guitar is not connecting to the wireless usb dongle connected to the PS3.

1. Verify that the wireless box is plugged in firmly to the usb port on the front of the PS3.

2. If that doesn't work, look on the wireless usb dongle for the guitar hero guitar controller. (It should be a black box with the guitar hero logo on it. You will find a small push button on the dongle. (Make sure your PS3 is turned on, though your guitar hero game does not have to be open. It may be a good idea to have the game running, so you can test your guitar or make sure it is really working). Press and hold the button on the wireless usb dongle for a few seconds. Five seconds should be enough. Doing this attempts to re-connect the dongle and the controller. You will know when the connection is good when the red lights on the controller go steady, as well as the LED on the small button you pressed on the wireless usb dongle. If either lights continue to blink, there is a connection problem still.

3. Try changing the batteries in the guitar controller. Weak batteries tend to cause connection issues.

4. Test the wireless usb dongle and controller with another PS3. This will rule out an issue with your PS3 system.

5. If the problem still occurs on another PS3, the wireless dongle may have gone bad. (This does happen rarely.) Replacements are cheap to find on ebay

How do i connect my les paul wireless guitar to my ps3

1. First of all, make sure the batteries are in the guitar.
2. With your PlayStation 3 console powered off, insert the wireless receiver into an available USB connector on the console.
3. Press and hold the PS button on the guitar to turn it on.
4. Turn on your PlayStation 3 console.
5. Press the connect button on the wireless receiver (not the guitar). The status light will flash, indicating that the receiver is searching for the controller.
6. Press the PS button on the guitar to establish a connection with the receiver. (You may have to wait for the receiver to stop flashing so fast. I think it flashes real fast at first, but then slows down.)

Also, make sure the guitar is assigned as control port #1.

I hope that helps.

Another thing that may help. Unplug all your usb cords that recharge your headset or controllers. Make sure the USB connector is the only thing pluged in and in the furthest left slot. That is what i had to do.

Receiver will not turn on for wireless guitar

I have torn 2 of these receivers apart and have ohm'd them out and found that the manufacturing process to put them together is very sub par.

On the two I had Capacitor c3 was off the board (smd). This is NOT a repairable problem if you don't have the low heat soldering equipment. Besides, you might correct one problem and find you have others because of the forceful procedures you have to do to get it apart.

Unfortunately the only thing you can do is buy a replacement (available at Red Octane's site[19.99]) or take a chance on EBAY sellers that claim to have the item [9.99].

Also, if you have a lot of time on your hands it is possible to hard wire the device (I do not have the pinouts). Pinouts should be online as I have seen several articles on it.

Hopefully I have given you some insight.

Guitar hero world tour guitar connection

Try the following:
  • Verify that your guitar is connected to the PS3 by looking for the red indicator light above the strum bar.
    • If the indicator light is not lit please refer to the following page for directions on how to sync your guitar to the console.
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the wireless dongle, then restarting the system.
  • If the buttons are not functioning in the game or behaving oddly please press the lever on the back of the guitar at the base of the neck and remove the neck from the guitar. Then plug the neck back into the guitar.
  • Check to see if the guitar button in question is functioning in the Playstation 3 XMB (the strum bar should scroll you up and down, the fret buttons act like the buttons on the controller and are labeled on the side of the neck, etc)
  • If the strum bar is registering extra hits try keeping a finger on the strum bar while playing the game instead of flicking it with your fingers/hand.
  • Try replacing the batteries in the guitar.
If after trying all troubleshooting options you find that your Red Octane product is still non-functional, then you can submit a warranty replacement by selecting your country from the drop down below for the warranty submission information for your region. You can also call us at 1-800-229-6306 or 1-800-205-4713 in the US and Canada, but please note that this is for new warranty replacement requests only.
If your country is not listed in the drop-down below or you need help with an existing RMA then please click on "Ask a Question" in the tab above to submit an incident to us, and we will be able to help you with your issue.
