My microwave reads loc and nothing works - Magic Chef Microwave Ovens

DO you know your model number? It would certainly help us help you. Magic Chef Microwaves in general you press the stop cancel button for more than 3 seconds or... you depress keys 7 and 8 for more than 3 seconds. If you have a model number I can be more specific.

This is from the 1100ST manual:

CHILD SAFETY LOCK

The safety lock prevents unwanted oven operation such as by small children.

To set, press and hold STOP/CLEAR for 3 seconds, LOCK indicator lights.
To cancel, press and hold STOP/CLEAR for 3 seconds, LOCK indicator goes off.

Sounds like a bad keypad. You will need the full model number off the microwave to look up the correct control panel part number. Sometimes these type of parts can be really expensive & it may make more sense to replace the microwave depending on the age and condition.

Microwave started beeping with nothing in it now it says SE or 5E

These issues are usally due to a defective touchpad or control board. Troubleshooting would require disconnecting the touchpad ribbon cable from the control board to see if that made the problem go away.

What does loc mean on my screen, and how do I fix it

To cancel lock;

Touch and hold the cancel/off pad for 5 seconds and the locked should disappear.

Same to lock.

I can't find anything about the LOC, so maybe the rest of the word is just missing.

Try this and see if it works. You can always post back and ask again
if I am wrong.

Emerson Microwave stopped working

Have 1 of 2 choices, the main fuse or the control board for the front switches and clock. primary of the small power transformer has opened. Unplug the unit and take case off and measure the fuse with an ohm meter. if u read 1 ohm or less then fuse is good. then measure across the main power plug tips. If read open then the power transformer is bad. Need to replace the board as not sure if transformer is available.
