try only having the hdmi cable hooked up to ps3 and tv, turn off ps3 and hold power button for 5 or 10 seconds and you should hear 3 beeps, this should reset the ps3 and detect the settings, if this doesnt work you mmay have to manually change audio and video settings in the ps3 settings menu to hdmi output and auto detect which settings work.

you could have a loose south bridge chip, you will need to do a re-flow.
also check any small resisters next to the HDMI port.

It sounds like your PS3 is putting out a resolution that your tv can't display when it is on the menu screen. The fix for this would be to press and hold the PS3 power button until you hear two beeps. This will default it to factory display settings and should set it to a resolution your TV can handle.

did you recently change cables to the tv?

are u sure on the back of the tv all the cables for the ps3 are properly put into the tv

Try this

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect PS3 to TV HDMI input
3. select TV HDMI input for PS3
4. turn OFF PS3 if it is ON
5. Press and hold the [I/O]Power button until the PS3 until you get the "HDMI Detected" message.

Also, this TV has a circuit that deactivates the HDMI if the rear cover is removed. It is possible the HDMI may have been turned OFF. This is reset in the service menu of the TV.

I have sound on video 2, and when on a static channel but not on the usual channel 3 which is TV. Just stoppen working one day and cant figure it out... Please help!

Maybe your TV is not made for HD from the Sony Console. Try calling Sony Customer support, then your TV's brand Customer support. That will tell you if your TV Model allows the HD from the PS3. Remember though, PS3 Uses Blu-Ray. So you need Blu-Ray for your TV. Hope this helped.

When you connecting sony via hdmi sony and tv must be shut down.First turn on sony then tv.Connect also and av cable or scart then go to sony settings and change out signal via hdmi or scart or av cabel and confirm.That should work
