Go into projectors menu, and you'll find sub menu "display" and it will give you options front, rear, etc and choice front, ceiling

You might have to get into extended menus - "projection" . I'd search it google (but I'm on phone currently and away from computer)

Unfortunately, there is no extended menu. I Googled for this issue and I found that I am not the only one asking for a solution for this problem. If there is nowhere written that this projector is able to flip the image, perhaps it can not do really do this. Thank you, Mircea

My apologies, I just downloaded your manual and I'm also amazed that this model has no extended menu for overhead mtg. You might call Dell (included w/link)

HELLO ! HAVE YOU FOUND THE PROBLEM?

  • Anonymous Jun 21, 2011

Hello. I gave up. I bought a ceiling mount kit which looks like a plate on which I simply put the projector in it's 'normal' way. Thank you for your support.

I want to attach a Vivitek 650HD projector to a ceiling mount, but am not sure if I mount it upside down. There doesn't seem to be a "flip" function to flip the picture.

I am 99% sure most projectors are mounted upside down. There should be a way to simply flip the image electronically via the option menu.

In most projector OCD menu (keep in mind you may want to do this before mounting), under the "Installation" or "Initial Installation" section should be an option about Projection mode/method. The options should allow you to pick front, rear, ceiling, or ceiling+rear. This sets the project to know when it will be in front of the screen, behind it, and/or attached to the ceiling (which it knows will be upside down). Then you simply set it to ceiling, mount the projector, and finish your other adjustments as needed.

When I attempt to use my USB2.0 UVC VGA WebCam, the image that pops up is upside down.

There should be a setting in the camera software, that sets the mirroring or rotation of the image. Play around with the mirror-flipping options or the rotation factor to get the image right. If it's filpped upside down, a Flip Vertical should do, or a 180 degrees rotation.

Upside down image

These projectors are designed to be mounted upside down. Think of a projector that is ceiling mounted in a classroom. Change this setting in Menu - Advanced Menu - Setup - Mirror.

Mustang projector mount required mounting projector upside down...

You may have figured it out by now... From the remote, you go into the menu and find the setting "Display Image" and the option is "Ceiling".

Angle of projected image

Hi there

No this can not be changed , the PB6100 was actually designed to mounted upside down in your ceiling and therefore the lens is 28-30 degrees upwards when projected on a flat surface.

Flip it upside down and you'll see what I'm getting at.

Image won't flip when the lcd panel is fliped to 180 degree i.e when i flip the lcd panel towards the lense to do a self shoot the image, instead of appearing stright appears upside - down

normally there is a micro switch fixed at the awivl head of the lcd panel. when the lcd is rotated to 180 the switch gets engaged thus turns the image upside down. most probably the switch has worn out.
